Comment on Healing Sessions for the Creative Heart & Spirit by Marcelle
I'm from South Africa and spent two years in LA studying at film school, during what felt like one of the hardest times of my life, and there have been some rather intense times. Despite being in such a huge concrete jungle, the immensity of aloneness and deep old trauma pain surfaced leaving me unable to cope. Im not one to resort to anti-depressants and it was by luck that I was referred to Carol. From the start there was never a time constraint and she opened her heart and world to me as if I was family. The shamanic energetic work we did together literally pulled out illusion, pain, trauma, negative beliefs and patterns and the fears that kept me from moving forward. I say together because my body responded so well to Carol. It knew that she was there to heal and what came up for me to share with her to remove was always so very clear, leaving me afterwards renewed with energy and clarity after the completion of the deep states we both went in too. It was a privilege to have access to Carol when stuff surfaced. Ive traveled the world far and wide and because of my traumatised past ive been on a deep journey of healing much of my life.. I deeply vouch for Carol- She is a powerful shamanic earth healer with a heart so huge, you know you have arrived home.. Thank you Carol-- I miss you:)

Taking a break from the Deep State War against Trump and Trump's self-defeating tweets (I don't recall the press being this obsessed with Bill Clinton's self-defeating affairs, but least Russia is off the front pages for a day), Ted Cruz is pushing a compromise healthcare bill that I think could pass. It allows insurance companies to sell non-Obamacare compliant plans as long as they offer at least one Obamacare compliant one. The Obamacare compliant plans would still be eligible for state subsidies, as they have been under the ACA, Since the GOP is essentially working with only 2 votes to spare, and Cruz, Lee and Paul would likely get on board with this plan, this could push the reform over the finish line. It may ultimately lead us to a permanent two tiered healthcare insurance market, but it will remove the mandate, the bulk of the taxes and the fast-track to single payer that we currently have. Ted Cruz is starting to grow on me. He's certainly showing himself to be a great senator.

Stunning 1967 Dissertation Warns Infiltration of Rothschild Luciferians in US Government 2

Between 1967 and 1968 Myron Fagan recorded three LP records: The Illuminati and the Council on Foreign Relations.  The dissertations document the activities of the house of Rothschild were  produced byAnthony J. Hilder – an American activist, author, film maker, talk show host, broadcaster and former actor.
This stunning recording from 1967 speaks to the very problems we face today, including Fake News, government corruption, the Corrupt United Nations and infiltration of a Luciferian Rothschild cult who may have gained irreversible control of the US government.

"Stop liberal violence!" Journalist screams

A conservative journalist interrupted the Trump assassination play in Central Park, N.Y., on Friday, only two days after the politically-motivated shooting of Republican lawmakers.
Laura Loomer of Rebel Media was arrested after rushing the stage, yelling that the production promoted violence against President Trump and his supporters.
The play, which is sponsored by Time Warner and the New York Times, features a Trump-lookalike who is violently assassinated in the same manner as Julius Caesar.

Breaking: Whistleblower Says Deep State in Control of State Department : Ongoing Child-Trafficking Cover-Up at St. Dept.

Did you know that at the State Department they have an exorbitantly paid employee, of Middle East background, who is in charge of the sex-trafficking brochures for the State Department? Did you know that same person refuses to cover this issue as domestic issue? This plays right into the hands of the Deep State cover-up of their child-sex-trafficking practices at the highest levels of government? This is tantamount to overtly supporting and covering up child-sex-trafficking and the State Department is the willing accomplice. Did you also know that the State Department has 3 men, led by Deep State minion and close Obama ally, Larry Palmer, who controls all information coming in and out of the State Department and they control the FOIA’s for the State Department as well.
State Department employee, Monika Wesolowski, has been unduly harassed and has had her life threatened for trying to expose traitors and overt practices of treason and sedition by State Department employees who are aligned with the Deep State motives and objectives. The following is an interview I conducted with Monika followed by objective, hard proof of the claims made by this whistleblower.
Unlike a lot of sources, this interview names the names of the guilty.

Monika “Begs” for Protection and Nobody From the State Department Will Help

Monika has begged for protection from the death threats, violent attacks and constant harassment. As recently as last Tuesday, June 13, 2017, Monika took the issue to Secretary of State Rex Tillerson’s aides. As of the date of this publication, she has not heard back on this critical issue. I want to put the State Department on notice, you do not wait 5 days to investigate these kinds of allegations when someone’s life is in danger. This is an example of intentional/unintentional depraved indifference to the safety of of State Department employee, Monika Wesolowski (see the email communications at the bottom of the page).
Previously, on The Common Sense Show,  I documented, with pictures, government vehicles that have stalked and harassed Monika. The Fairfax, VA. police have told Monika that it is not safer to go home and they cannot protect her.
More recently, Monika has had animals poisoned to death. She, herself, has had to be treated for poisoning, some of which was uranium related. When I recently tried to interview Monika by Skype, ourcommunications were blocked for hours. Simultaneously, our cell phone communications were blocked as well. Here home has been invaded when she is not home. She was boxed in by two Muslim men, at the carwash, and stayed near until she called the police. This woman is the Deep State posterchild for political and personal harassment. In the following emails, please note the reference to CHILD-SEX-TRAFFICKING. I further want it to be known that Liz Crokin discovered a connection between the Virginia Shooter baseball practice shooter and child-sex-trafficking and that the primary shooting victim, Rep. Scalise had just sponsored a child-sex-trafficking bill eight days prior to being shot. This is no coincidence, the Deep State strikes again.
Monika has backed out of previous interviews because she is in fear of her life. I have convinced her that if you are going to be on the list, you better be on top of the list. Because I know the fate of Breitbart and Hastings, I have shared this information with other journalistic outlets who are going to cover this case and we are going to turn up the heat significantly.
I want to remind everyone, that in several earlier publications, I have tapped into two unnamed sources, one from the FBI and one from the State Department and was told that there is a Deep State purge underway. Monika confirms the assertion as her office is “like a morgue, people have either left or people have cleared out their desks and are awaiting their departure”.

Crickets Chirping

After numerous instances of being harassed and attacked, she reached out to Secretary Tillerson’s office, but to no avail. Here are the unanswered communications:

Ms. Peterlin and Ms. Kenna,
The issue goes back deeper into 2013 and child trafficking. I have not seen my eight year old son in a year . I worry for his safety and mine. It is imperative I speak to you in person, I will not speak to anyone outside of Mr. Tillerson’s close administration for fear for my life and that of my son’s. Thank you for speaking to me on the phone. I have been wanting to send this email for several months but afraid to.

Dear Ms. Peterlin,
I proudly attended Secretary of State Tillerson’s swearing in ceremony and have faith that he will be successful at the State Department. I would like to arrange a meeting with your office with the Secretary of State Mr. Rex Tillerson. It is imperative I speak to Mr. Tillerson. I do not feel safe at my office or at home, I have been under constant attack. I have had things happen to my family, myself, and in the office that I cannot talk about in email. I feel my life and health, as well as that of my family and those close to me, is in danger because of where I work and the people I work with, and their connections. I do not know who to trust and cannot trust Diplomatic Security here at DOS, my coworkers or upper management, especially not Ambassador Palmer, who is Deputy Assistant Secretary for Global Information Services. I was informed by my HR that Ambassador Palmer pushed for the Hatch Act for my having a photograph and items of President Trump in my cubicle after the election. The situation at work has been hostile and I have been harassed. Please let me know if you could speak with me or arrange a meeting with the Secretary. Please expect a call regarding this email just to verify.
Thank you kindly,

I believe Monika’s best protection is the light of day. On that note, I would ask that all forward this article to your contact list. Secondly, if Tillerson’s office will not respond to this grave situation, then I would ask that everyone send this article to President Trump AND Attorney General Jeff Sessions. Finally, we need to keep the heat on this issue.

Neil deGrasse Tyson now pushing Monsanto propaganda alongside wife abuser and convicted felon
Mike Adams
Why am I not surprised? Neil deGrasse Tyson, who has become a mouthpiece for the GMO and chemical agricultural industries that poison the global food supply, is narrating a new documentary called "Food Evolution."
The film pushes the same pro-GMO propaganda as a violent wife abuser who used to write for Forbes. Another fake science front group -- the ACSH -- appears in the film and is run by a convincted medical fraud FELON who spent years in prison (and now runs biotech propaganda campaigns for a living).
Neil deGrasse Tyson has become a shameful betrayor of humanity and nature and an insult to real science.

Company With Ties To UFO Cover-up Gets Huge Antarctica Contract - Why All The Defense Contractors And Mercenaries?

(Stefan Stanford) According to this interesting new story from the Herald Review, studies that were completed upon sedimentary rock in Antarctica have given us undeniable and conclusive evidence that palm trees once grew there in that land long covered by ice as also heard in the 1st video below. As the author of the Herald story asks, how is that possible when nothing other than primitive vegetation grows there today? As we hear in the 3rd and final video below featuring Clif High of the Web Bot project, the data that he mines every day tells him that something very, very strange is going on in Antarctica, and each day he's getting more and more indications that something huge is ramping up down there.
 Source - All News Pipeline

by Stefan Stanford, June 20th, 2017

Sharing with us evidence he's gotten through his internet word-monitoring project that, beyond many visits made by the elite to Antarctica, including Newt Gingrich himself in February of 2017 as seen in the Twitter screenshot below, he also sees a big ramping up of jobs in Antarctica including highly elite globalist corporations, (one with long ties to the UFO coverup!), and the numbers of military passes there indicate to him a major operation is being prepared for.

Between large tracts of land in Australia and New Zealand being dedicated to something new and still mysterious, he also tells us of the creations of new cargo routes from the areas closest to the land of ice, where it is now winter. High tells us he expects we may see something huge during the Antarctic spring while telling us one of the biggest indicators of what might be happening there now are the huge number of high tech companies becoming involved. He also tells us that whatever it is, the American people may never hear anything about it with the companies now involved.

According to the Professional Overseas Contractors website, a new company called LEIDOS recently took over the massive Antarctic support contract formerly held by deep-state, military-industrial-complex tied Lockheed Martin. Their story interestingly mentions that nowhere on LEIDOS company history page did they mention their parent company, a mega-giant for the 'deep state' called SAIC, the Scientific Applications International Company.

And as High tells us in this video, SAIC has deep ties to the secrecy surrounding UFO's, history that can be traced by those willing to investigate it including a slew of CEO's from the military-industrial-complex including retired US Navy Admiral and CIA Deputy Director Bobby Ray Inman, who's held several influential positions within the intelligence community, including time at SAIC, and who has long been believed to be one of the 'UFO Gatekeepers'.

Interestingly we also learn that the reason SAIC created LEIDOS was that they were unable to bid on certain government contracts as SAIC, but as LEIDOS they were able to bid upon them. Add in the fact that Lockheed Martin's Antarctica contract was supposed to run through 2025 but was 'conveniently' cut short, with LEIDOS taking over, and all kinds of questions arise that need to be answered with the starter: What is REALLY going on down there?

According to Steve Quayle's book "Empire Beneath The Ice", the truth about history has been hidden. In 'Empire Beneath' Quayle persuasively argues that most of what we have learned about World War II and the defeat of Nazi Germany is wrong, and the truth is something not only sinister but are at the root of some of the biggest secrets of our age.

Interestingly, Quayle's book aligns greatly with much that we're hearing from Clif High now via his Web Bot project and High tells us he believes that what's happening down there might somehow be UFO/alien related. He also claims that with most jobs in the Antarctic being seasonal and short term, there's a mathematical certainty that more and more information will be leaking out about what's really going on down there that he'll be able to data mine through his project.

Might Steve Quayle's book have been way ahead of the truth? These main points of his book are shared with us.:
Why the suppressed evidence proves Adolf Hitler didn’t die before Germany surrendered during WWII, and how he eluded capture.

How Nazi SS members, scientists, and soldiers escaped with Hitler to create colonies in other parts of the world to continue their monstrous research.

Why in 1947 Admiral Richard E. Byrd warned that the US should adopt measures to protect against an invasion by hi-tech aircraft coming from the polar regions, adding, “The time has ended when we were able to take refuge in our isolation and rely on the certainty that the distances, the oceans, and the poles were a guarantee of safety.”

How, using advanced technology, Nazi saucers defeated the US military — long after WWII was supposedly over.

Why the US space program was mostly a sham, and why the “UFOs” that started appearing around the world in the late 1940s were (and still are) most likely flown by Nazi pilots.

How key government, manufacturing, pharmaceutical, financial leaders, and institutions helped Hitler come into power, and facilitated the preservation of Nazi wealth and power after WWII.

Why today’s world is secretly controlled by a malevolent shadow government and entire populations are being surreptitiously brainwashed.

How ancient stargates have been duplicated to open portals into spiritual and demonic universes.

Why those controlling our planet have laid the groundwork for a takeover by a dictator who could best be described as the Antichrist of the Bible. Empire Beneath the Icecarefully documents these and many more astounding facts, divulging the truth about what is happening today. It gives you the insights to help prevent this diabolical takeover or, if it occurs, reveals the details and essential actions you and your loved ones must take. Empire Beneath the Ice exposes the dangers our world faces, and will arm you with the tools you need to counter these unspeakable, secret evils.

While High makes sure to reaffirm that we still don't know exactly what's going on down there, he claims that based on the few clues we do have that things are definitely ramping up. The fact that LEIDOS/SAIC refocused a core science group on Antarctica, which did part of their past work in 'reverse engineering', tells him that, while we're now living in very exciting times, a major inflection point is ahead. As he continues, with the old system dying and a new one being born, there are great opportunities along with great risks.

In the 2nd video below our videographer talks with us about the massive military build-up going on down in the Antarctic region including many defense contractors and mercenaries. Also discussed in the eye-opening final video below featuring Clif High are Bitcoin and other digital currencies and the potential for financial unrest ahead. The conversation turns towards Antarctica at the 24 minute mark. For those new to the Web Bot project, Cliff High's cutting edge technology is a set of algorithms used to process variations in the language that can offer insight into the mood of the collective unconscious through “predictive linguistics.”

<a href="" rel="nofollow">Liberals under Turnbull have elevated politicking over policy</a> <em>How did it come to this for the Coalition? And what is the way forward? At heart, the answer is quite simple but the complexities of personalities and politicking have complicated the descent and will hinder any recovery. Elected in a landslide just four years ago, the Liberals have frittered their mandate, undermined public confidence, failed on the most important task of budget repair and gone some way to making a Shorten Labor government inevitable. Linking poor policy, clumsy politics and susceptibility to personality-driven leadership solutions is straight-talking — or rather the lack of it. As George Orwell explained better than anyone, the retreat from direct language in politics is a symptom and a cause of muddled thinking. We cannot think with clarity if we don’t speak plainly, and vice versa. The Liberals have fallen into the leftist whirlpool of spin. They have succumbed to what is poison for the centre-right — fashion. Tempted to endear themselves to the progressives of the media/political class, they have forgotten their core value, the primacy of good sense over superficial appeal. Like the inch-deep state Labor model that Kevin Rudd took to Canberra, they have elevated politicking over policy substance. This has manifested itself in meaningless rhetoric, aimless positioning and an obvious lack of policy coherence. Superficial language has encouraged superficial policy, and vice versa. The damage is anything but superficial. It is substantive and long term — for the party and the nation. On climate, energy, education and fiscal repair the Liberals have surrendered policy strength and differentiation. Nods to fashion have them almost indistinguishable in practical terms from what is now a deeply green-left ALP. As we contemplate the prospect of a Shorten-Di Natale government that would deliver higher taxes, deeper deficits, more debt and higher power prices, we need to comprehend that this is precisely the formula that has been delivered so far by the Coalition. The difference is only in degree. Perhaps the only clear policy contrast is the extent of accountability for unions. It should have been impossible for a Coalition government to drift down this path. The Liberals have not been prepared to speak simple truths; to argue unpalatable facts. (Let’s leave the Nationals out of this for now because they have been largely innocent spectators as their Coalition partners have fallen into dysfunction.) There are pivotal aspects of important national debates that are obvious to any well-informed voter or self-evident to the common sense of mainstream Australians but are never mentioned in direct terms by Liberal politicians. The only people who seem to be prepared to say what they think are political outliers such as Pauline Hanson; she is prone to wade in without nuance or factual ballast yet still wins a political dividend just for engaging on the tough issues. The debate, otherwise, is constrained like a polite dinner party within invisibly delineated, politically correct boundaries set by the media/political class Take climate policy. No Liberal politicians, much less those in cabinet, will even discuss modelling and observations on global warming, preferring to inoculate themselves from leftist attacks by repeating meaningless mantras about “believing” in climate change. You may as well say you believe in tides. The dinner table debate on climate assumes two enduring myths: that scientific research has settled on a climate trajectory; and that Australia’s emissions reductions will make a difference. So it is all about how we cut emissions. Significant developments such as the publication in Nature Geoscience this month of a paper by Benjamin Santer and others (including Michael E. Mann) on differences between modelling and measured warming are ignored. “Over most of the early 21st century, however, model tropospheric warming is substantially larger than observed,” these pre-eminent scientists found. “We conclude that model overestimation of tropospheric warming in the early 21st century is partly due to systemic deficiencies in some of the post-2000 external forcings used in mode simulations.” Hold the presses. They are admitting warming is not as bad as they predicted. And they don’t really know why — so much for the science being settled. Given that politicians are at the forefront of emissions reduction, renewable energy and taxation policies designed to reduce global warming, they should be engaged in discussing crucial facts about the problem they claim to be solving. Voters may just be interested. Even if, for argument’s sake, we accept the most alarmist forecasts we still hear no politicians addressing the manifest futility of our policy responses. We are told to accept the world’s most expensive electricity at diminished reliability to meet non-enforceable emissions reductions targets that are ignored or not even set by many nations and cannot make the slightest difference to the global environment because they are being dwarfed by much larger increases in emissions overseas. Few things could be more important to the economy and national debate of this energy-rich nation; yet this element of debate is studiously ignored by Liberals — presumably for fear of attracting the opprobrium of the media/political class. Tony Abbott speaks plainly about it now, only after losing the prime ministership. Likewise in education, Liberals do not point out that all the available evidence suggests increased expenditure will not improve our declining standards. Instead, they will borrow and spend an extra $23.5 billion and claim virtue because this is less reckless than Labor’s goal. On fiscal repair, the Liberals accept what the parliament may allow, effectively offering a budget veto to Labor, Greens and crossbench senators. Cold arithmetic dictates what can pass the Senate but where is the advocacy for more reform and less spending? The Liberals under Abbott and Malcolm Turnbull invented new taxes, directly contradicting their narrative and ideological wellspring. They broke promises. Plain speaking gave way to weasel words as they tried to compete with Labor’s disingenuous “fairness” argument. This week Abbott spoke clearly about the financial and strategic madness of buying inferior submarines at a higher cost with longer delays when better, more cost-effective and timely nuclear options are available. Again, this clarity clashed with his language and actions as prime minister, highlighting how the hidden inhibitions of power seem to undermine logical decision-making and unvarnished arguments. To revive their fortunes and defeat Labor, the Liberals must get back to their roots of rational and pragmatic policy based on frank and honest debate. This is their foundation. This conviction came to me in adulthood, as it does for many, after a misspent youth of ideological delusion. Writing in Quadrant this month my News Corp colleague Tim Blair explained his centre-right conversion in perceptively blunt terms. “The best part of adopting conservatism after years of leftism, by the way, is how much easier life becomes,” he concluded. “If you’re a conservative, facts are generally all you need to establish a case or mount an argument. If you’re a leftist, however, you always have to find a way around the facts, which is why combative lefties always sound like lawyers knowingly representing a guilty client.” Here lies the secret of the Coalition’s present disarray and future revival. They’ve forgotten first principles and need to examine facts, debate practical solutions and fight to deliver them. Compromise will always have its way but they might start with conviction instead of guardedness, and give us clarity before endless subclauses. Orwell argued that just as our language becomes “ugly and inaccurate because our thoughts are foolish” so too does the “slovenliness of our language” make it easier for us to entertain foolish thoughts. Damn straight.</em>

Corker hold puts Saudi arms deal at risk (Jack Detsch, June 29, 2017, Al Monitor)

On Monday, Sen. Bob Corker, R-Tenn., sent a letter to Secretary of State Rex Tillerson vowing to block future arms sales to Gulf countries pending a resolution to the regional dispute over Qatar. The letter is widely seen as an effort to give Tillerson more leverage as he tries to negotiate an end to the crisis, which began June 5 when Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Bahrain and Egypt cut ties with Doha over its alleged support for terrorism.

Gotta love the Deep State conspiring against Donald and his Salafi pals.

Feared Assassins That Targeted President Carter Warned Will Attack President Trump Next Week
Germany’s Federal Intelligence Service (BND) shocking dismissal yesterday of over 300 elite police officers from protecting the lives of President Donald Trump and President Vladimir Putin at next weeks G-20 Meeting in Hamburg is due to their being infiltrated by an elite organization of American assassins responsible for the worst political murders in US history—and one of whose “provable” assassination attempts was in 1979 against President Jimmy Carter, who, like Trump, vowed to restore the United States government to its people. To the SVR’s most feared assassination scenario involving President Trump at next weeks G-20 Meeting in Hamburg, this report concludes, is that should these assassins be successful, the American “Deep State” will blame President Trump’s murder on Russia thus justifying their initiation of World War III—and that their elites are prepared for with their being able to rapidly flee to their underground bunkers while tens-of-millions of ordinary American citizens die.
          Today’s #fakenews: Trump’s long-time bodyguard is a Russian shill
I don’t think the deep state / “intelligence community” understands that we’re at the point where the immediate response to these new “leaks” is laughter. At their stupidity.
College smiles at budget    June 30, 2017 As is wont to happen when a state passes its budget, howls of “what happened to my money” went far and deep statewide when Florida Gov. Rick Scott signed the 2017-2018 budget. But at Sarasota-based New College of Florida, there was joy, not sadness when the budget was dissected. That’s […]
          Establishment Intransigence Toward Trump

Dennis Prager recently argued that America was in a state of civil war and urged conservative Trump critics to join the fight. “Trump, with all his flaws, is our general,” Prager wrote. “If this general is going to win, he needs the best fighters. But too many of them, some of the best minds of the conservative movement, are AWOL.”

Jonah Goldberg of National Review responded that the Never Trumpers “do not believe that America is engaged in a civil war, with the survival of America as we know it at stake.” And “Donald Trump is literally no one’s general.”

Clearly, the president is up against the kind of conservative that, as David Horowitz said in Big Agenda, fails to understand that they are in a battle, and that to prevail they must want to win. Trump also faces a dynamic that was not an issue in the 2016 election but helps explain the ongoing establishment animus, particularly from the “Never Trump” conservatives.

In Secrets of the Tomb: Skull and Bones, the Ivy League, and the Hidden Paths of Power, Yale alum Alexandra Robbins charts the founding of the Order of Skull and Bones in the 1830s. More than 150 years later, Robbins explains. “This tiny club has set up networks that have thrust three members into the most powerful position in the world.”

President William Howard Taft, 1909-1914, who also put in a stint as Chief Justice, was a Bonesman. So was President George Herbert Walker Bush, 1988-1992, who was accused by Pat Buchanan of running a “Skull and Bones presidency.” The most recent Skull and Bones alum in the White House is George W. Bush, who in 2004 prevailed against fellow Bonesman John Kerry in 2004.

It was the first time two Bonesmen battled for the nation’s highest office. Prominent Bonesmen include Henry Luce, Archibald MacLeish, McGeorge Bundy, Averill Harriman, Henry Stimson, Potter Stewart, William Sloan Coffin, and National Review founder William F. Buckley.

As one Bonesman explained, “the biggest benefit of Skull and Bones is the networking,” and Robbins finds plenty of that. The Reagan-Bush administration, for example, appointed Bonesmen Winston Lord as ambassador to China, and James Buckley to the US. Court of Appeals.

President George H. W. Bush named Bonesman Richard Anthony Moore as ambassador to Ireland and Bonesman Paul Lambert, who had no diplomatic experience, as ambassador to Ecuador. The pick for secretary of labor was George Ball, with fellow Bonesmen James Hemphill in the department of the interior and Edwin Dale at management and budget. Head speechwriter was Christopher Buckley, son of William F. Buckley and like his daddy a Bonesman.

President George W. Bush chose fellow Bonesman William H. Donaldson to head the Securities and Exchange Commission. Skull and Bones vet Edward McNally got the call as general counsel for Homeland Security, and senior associate counsel to the president for national security. Bonesman Robert D. McCallum was the pick for assistant attorney general in the civil-rights division of the DOJ, and Bonesman Evan G. Galbraith became a defense representative in Europe and adviser to NATO.

Observers could be forgiven for thinking that the primary consideration for these selections was not competence and experience but membership in Skull and Bones. The ultimate old boys network also owns Deer Island in the St. Lawrence River, and Robbins helpfully provides a map.

The 44th president, formerly known as Barry Soetoro, is a Harvard man but duly chose Bonesman John Kerry as Secretary of State and Skull and Bones member Austan Goolsbee as chairman of the Council of Economic Advisors. Like everybody in that administration, Goolsbee is hardly a conservative but he did not become the target of choice for big guns on the right.

By contrast, in the run-up to the 2016 election, Donald Trump took some of his hardest shots from William F. Buckley’s National Review. The publication arrayed prominent writers “Against Trump” and called the candidate “a menace to American conservatism who would take the work of generations and trample it underfoot on behalf of a populism as heedless and crude as The Donald himself.”

For a perspective on crudity, the Never Trumpers might consult Robbins’ chapter on Skull and Bones initiation rites. But as the Bonesmen say of non-members, Trump is a “barbarian,” and not even a Yale or Harvard man.

Besides the Deep State reactionaries and fake media, Donald Trump is a target of elitist establishment types who look down their nose at working people. That is very much the style of Yale law school alum Hillary Clinton, the congenital liar and “vast right-wing conspiracy” theorist the Never Trumpers preferred in the 2016 contest. If Donald Trump, as Jeb Bush said, is “not a conservative,” then what is Crooked Hillary?

It was working people, not establishment elitists, who elected Donald Trump president. With all his faults, he is doing his best to fight their battles and win. The Never Trumpers would do well to “report for duty,” as Dennis Prager said, but right now, the president is on a winning streak without them.

The US-Russian Hearings: Caught Again In Their Trap

3421321312“…one shouldn’t put one’s trust in speeches like that from the gentlemen, for on such occasions the gentlemen liked to say agreeable things, but they had little or no significance and, once uttered, they were forgotten for all time, but admittedly, on the very next occasion one got caught again in their trap.”

With these words Kafka described the modern condition, each one of us trapped in the sticky web of technology and deceit designed to manipulate us to act and think against our selves, to accept the role of monkeys offered bananas in a cage, surrendering the struggling to escape it.
The most dangerous element of that technology is the constant and increasing flood of images of war, of “terror,” of cities destroyed, cultures erased, entire progressive socio-economic systems torn apart, or threatened with destruction, not by the “terrorists” but by the states that declared their “war on terror,” by the states that in reality created the terror in all its forms; the worst being the constant threat of instant and universal annihilation in a nuclear war.
That threat, the threat of nuclear war is more dangerous with every passing day as we see the NATO build-up along Russia’s western borders echoing the Nazi build-up before their invasion in 1941, the rolling invasion of Syria by American and allied forces, the hysterical rhetoric and military movements against North Korea, and the increasing contempt for Chinese sovereignty. Any of these threats from the United States could lead to nuclear war but the threat that concerns all of us is the one against Russia because a nuclear war with Russia is, as President Putin pointed out recently, not survivable. Yet, it is the threat against Russia that is building, building, building; increased military pressure on all fronts, increased economic warfare, called “sanctions,” increased hybrid warfare ranging from hacking of Russian computer systems, to direct attacks on Russian forces in Syria, from expulsion of diplomats to verbal abuse against and assassination of ambassadors. But the extent of the danger is to be seen not outside the United States but in the internal political turmoil that is taking place inside the United States.
There propaganda against Russia as the “enemy” trying to destroy America through various forms of subversion is daily fare in all the mass media. The alleged subversion is stated as fact. The fact that the allegations are patently absurd means nothing when those who mould opinion refuse to say so and openly lie to the people with every word they utter. But the level of the threat against Russia is signalled by the willingness among the war faction to sacrifice anyone, no matter who they are or what position, in order to advance this propaganda. We now watch as the US Congress holds hearings in which senior government officials are called to defend themselves against charges of having had Russian connections. The President of the country is himself subject to a barrage of accusations of treason.
This scandal is not just about the bickering between the losing party in the US elections and the winning party with the losers willing to risk the security of the people of the country in a bid to take power denied them at the ballot box. There is an element of that. The war faction does want to have its finger directly on the button. Elections and democracy mean nothing to them so long as they take the power. But they could have used any scandal to try to do that. They have concocted the “Russian threat to democracy” because they want war with Russia and to convince the people of the United States and the world that this war is necessary and just, are willing to destroy even their own leaders, and their country’s democratic system, as weak and non-representative of the needs of the people as it is, in order to achieve their purpose.
The longer this spectacle in the United States goes on the worse it is going to get. But those under attack do not seem to understand what is happening to them, that they are being used to advance this propaganda, that they are being set up as scapegoats and in fact they even play along with the game, with Jeff Sessions, the US Attorney-General, today, the 13 of June, telling the US Senate Intelligence investigative committee that the accusation he “colluded” with Russia was “an appalling and detestable lie” but playing his role in this propaganda show by adding, “that he was concerned the President did not realise the severity of the threat from Russia interference that can never be tolerated.”
The former FBI Director James Comey, a man with deep state connections, testified to the same committee that he was fired because of his investigation into the Russian allegations even though he provided no proof there was anything to investigate. Again, the facts don’t matter. The only thing that matters is the impression left, that Russia has and is attempting to subvert the United States and has succeeded in infiltrating its agents into the presidency and senior government and military levels.
To further advance this propaganda theme purges are necessary to add to the drama and we have seen Comey leave, General Flynn resign and others forced out of office or threatened with it. But the main objective of these hearings and the mass media coverage of them is to generate peoples hostility towards Russia, and this seems to be succeeding, as polls indicate. The next level of the propaganda war will be to create such an intense situation in the United States that the calls for war by the people will be the natural reaction of their outrage and, in any case, this is what the war faction and media will tell us, that the people demand action.
President Putin can meet with celebrities like Oliver Stone to correct the facts and state the truth. He can successfully dance circles around bubble headed American journalists in interviews, but he cannot control the mass media in the west that rarely allows Russian points of view to be heard. Still the attempt must be made.
The United States is in a crisis. The games being played there are dangerous for its people. The logic of the demands made by those making the allegations means that President Trump must resign or be charged with treason. If he refuses to go there will be attempts to force him. If he is forced out, the people that voted for him and support him will feel rightly cheated and they will react. And who is to replace him? It can only be one of the war faction or a puppet and if that cannot issue be resolved peacefully then the military could step in to “manage” things in a time of “threat” and “urgency.” There have been coup d’états before in the United States. We are witnessing another now.
The United States is in a crisis generated by people who have no idea how to control all the possible consequences of the events they have begun and because of this they are very dangerous to themselves and to the world. While the Russians prepare for the worst and hope for the best we in the west must do what we can to challenge the war propaganda, the propaganda of hostility and hatred that is inflicted on us by the criminals in control of the western governments and western media. Each of us is just one voice, but our voices united become a shout and with our shout we can level the walls of hostility that keep us from the peaceful coexistence that the peoples of world need to continue the struggle for economic and social justice, for real democracy, for progress, against the forces of reaction and fascism that always threaten us. Let’s not get “caught again in their trap.”

The secret government or Deep State has been spraying the skies throughout North America since late 1997 on an almost daily basis with substances that were first identified as "mystery contrails", but later were dubbed "chemtrails" by investigative reporter and author William Thomas. When questioned, military and government officials either deny any knowledge of these spraying's outright or they offer unbelievable and ludicrous explanations that only a moron could believe. These spraying's are making many people sick and are the first phase of a bio-warfare operation designed to effect wide scale population reduction .. What can YOU do and Find out what's going on:

By cooperating in secret with jet fuel manufacturers, government agents have carefully kept the massive chemtrail efforts completely under wraps. Snowden added, “I am only revealing this program because there is no oversight in the scientific community, no public discussion, and little concern for the side-effects which are well known only to a few privileged people interested in continuing the decades-long chemtrail program in secret.”

Because climate change is a threat to U.S. agriculture, it has been labeled a national security issue. With the influence and cooperation of Monsanto, a secret Geoengineering lab dubbed Muad’Dib has been operating since the late 1960s, and the chemtrail program is often referred to by insiders as its “crown jewel.” Muad’Dib has aimed to protect North America’s climate at all costs – The chemtrail program has been incredibly easy to hide, especially with the cooperation of jet fuel companies, a crucial part of the military-industrial complex. Snowden said, “The chemicals which are released by passenger airplanes have been covertly introduced as ‘additives,’ supposedly to improve efficiency. Only as the plane reaches cruising velocity does the heat and atmospheric pressure cause a chemical reaction that synthesizes the top secret carbon-trapping molecule. This process is imperfect, and many of the by-products are incredibly dangerous even in trace quantities. The most dangerous thing is that although chemtrails are keeping the climate of the U.S. reasonably stable, citizens are bombarded every day with an invisible rain of carbon-laden molecules, and the effect on health is totally unknown.”

Russia-gate Is No Watergate or Iran-Contra
Many comparisons have been made between Russia-gate and the earlier scandals of Watergate and Iran-Contra, but the similarities are at best superficial, explains Robert Parry.
Russia-gate, the sprawling investigation into whether Russia meddled in last year’s U.S. election, is often compared to the two big political scandals of the latter half of the Twentieth Century, Watergate and Iran-Contra. Sometimes you even hear that Russia-gate is “bigger than Watergate.”
Yet what is perhaps most remarkable about those two Twentieth Century scandals is how little Official Washington really understands them – and how these earlier scandals significantly contrast, rather than compare, with what is unfolding now.
Although the historical record is still incomplete on Watergate and Iran-Contra, the available evidence indicates that both scandals originated in schemes by Republicans to draw foreign leaders into plots to undermine sitting Democratic presidents and thus pave the way for the elections of Richard Nixon in 1968 and Ronald Reagan in 1980.
As for Russia-gate, even if you accept that the Russian government hacked into Democratic emails and publicized them via WikiLeaks, there is still no evidence that Donald Trump or his campaign colluded with the Kremlin to do so. By contrast, in the origins of Watergate and Iran-Contra, it appears the Nixon and Reagan campaigns, respectively, were the instigators of schemes to enlist foreign governments in blocking a Vietnam peace deal in 1968 and negotiations to free 52 American hostages in Iran in 1980.
Though Watergate is associated directly with the 1972 campaign – when Nixon’s team of burglars was caught inside the Democratic National Committee offices in the Watergate building – Nixon’s formation of that team, known as the Plumbers, was driven by his fear that he could be exposed for sabotaging President Lyndon Johnson’s Vietnam peace talks in 1968 in order to secure the White House that year.
After Nixon’s narrow victory over Vice President Hubert Humphrey in the 1968 election, FBI Director J. Edgar Hoover informed Nixon that Johnson had a secret file, complete with wiretapped phone calls, detailing the Nixon campaign’s backchannel messages to South Vietnamese officials convincing them to boycott Johnson’s Paris peace talks. Later, Nixon learned that this incriminating file had disappeared from the White House.
So, in 1971, after the leaking of the Pentagon Papers, which recounted the lies that had been used to justify the Vietnam War through 1967, Nixon fretted that the missing file about his peace-talk gambit in 1968 might surface, too, and would destroy him politically. Thus, he organized the Plumbers to find the file, even contemplating fire-bombing the Brookings Institution to enable a search of its safe where some aides thought the missing file might be found.
In other words, Watergate wasn’t simply a break-in at the Democratic National Committee on June 17, 1972, in pursuit of useful political intelligence and Nixon’s ensuing cover-up; the scandal had its origins in a far worse scandal, the derailing of peace talks that could have ended the Vietnam War years earlier and saved the lives of tens of thousands of U.S. soldiers and possibly more than 1 million Vietnamese.
Iran-Contra Parallels
Similarly, the Iran-Contra scandal exploded in 1986 with revelations that President Reagan had authorized secret arms sales to Iran with some of the profits going to fund the Nicaraguan Contra rebels, but the evidence now indicates that the connections between Reagan’s team and Iran’s revolutionary regime traced back to 1980 when emissaries from Reagan’s campaign worked to stymie President Jimmy Carter’s negotiations to free 52 American hostages then held in Iran.
According to multiple witnesses, including former Assistant Secretary of State for Middle Eastern Affairs Nicholas Veliotes, the pre-election contacts led to the opening of a weapons pipeline to Iran (via Israel), after Reagan was sworn in on Jan. 20, 1981, which was the precise moment when Iran finally released the American hostages after 444 days.
Some key players in the 1980 Reagan-Iran contacts reappeared four years later at the start of direct (again secret) U.S. arms shipments to Iran in 1985, which also involved Israeli middlemen. These key players included Iranian CIA operative Cyrus Hashemi, former CIA clandestine services chief Theodore Shackley, Reagan’s campaign chief and then-CIA Director William Casey, and former CIA Director and then-Vice President George H.W. Bush.
In other words, the Iran-Contra weapons shipments of 1985-86 appear to have been an outgrowth of the earlier shipments dating back to 1980 and continuing under Israeli auspices until the supply line was taken over more directly by the Reagan administration in 1985-86.
Thus, both the Watergate scandal in 1972 and the Iran-Contra Affair in 1986 could be viewed as “sequels” to the earlier machinations driven by Republican hunger to seize the enormous powers of the U.S. presidency. However, for decades, Official Washington has been hostile to these underlying explanations of how Watergate and Iran-Contra began.
For instance, The New York Times, the so-called “newspaper of record,” treated the accumulation of evidence regarding Nixon’s 1968 peace-talk gambit as nothing more than a “rumor” until earlier this year when a scholar, John A. Farrell, uncovered cryptic notes taken by Nixon’s aide H.R. Haldeman, which added another piece to the mosaic and left the Times little choice but to pronounce the historical reality finally real.
Grasping the Watergate Narrative
Still, the Times and other major news outlets have failed to factor this belated admission into the larger Watergate narrative. If you understand that Nixon did sabotage President Johnson’s Vietnam War peace talks and that Nixon was aware that Johnson’s file on what LBJ called Nixon’s “treason” had disappeared from the White House, the early “Watergate tapes” from 1971 suddenly make sense.
Nixon ordered White House chief of staff H.R. “Bob” Haldeman and National Security Adviser Henry Kissinger to locate the missing file but their search came up empty. Yet, some Nixon aides thought the file might be hidden at the Brookings Institution, a liberal think tank in Washington. So, in his desperate pursuit of the file, Nixon called for a break-in at Brookings, possibly even fire-bombing the building as a cover for his team of burglars to slip in amid the confusion and rifle the safe.
The old explanation that Nixon simply wanted to find some file related to Johnson’s 1968 pre-election Vietnam bombing halt never made sense given the extreme steps that Nixon was prepared to take.
The relevant portions of Nixon’s White House tapes include an entry on June 17, 1971, coincidentally one year to the day before the Watergate burglars were caught. Nixon summoned Haldeman and Kissinger to the Oval Office and pleaded with them again to locate the file.
“Do we have it?” Nixon asked Haldeman. “I’ve asked for it. You said you didn’t have it.”
Haldeman: “We can’t find it.”
Kissinger: “We have nothing here, Mr. President.”
Nixon: “Well, damn-it, I asked for that because I need it.”
Kissinger: “But Bob and I have been trying to put the damn thing together.”
Haldeman: “We have a basic history in constructing our own, but there is a file on it.”
Nixon: “Where?”
Haldeman: “[Presidential aide Tom Charles] Huston swears to God that there’s a file on it and it’s at Brookings.”
Nixon: “Bob? Bob? Now do you remember Huston’s plan [for White House-sponsored break-ins as part of domestic counter-intelligence operations]? Implement it.”
Kissinger: “Now Brookings has no right to have classified documents.”
Nixon: “I want it implemented. Goddamn-it, get in and get those files. Blow the safe and get it.”
Haldeman: “They may very well have cleaned them by now, but this thing, you need to “
Kissinger: “I wouldn’t be surprised if Brookings had the files.”
Haldeman: “My point is Johnson knows that those files are around. He doesn’t know for sure that we don’t have them around.”
But Johnson did know that the file was no longer at the White House because he had ordered his national security adviser, Walt Rostow, to remove it in the final days of Johnson’s presidency.
Forming the Burglars
On June 30, 1971, Nixon again berated Haldeman about the need to break into Brookings and “take it [the file] out.” Nixon suggested using former CIA officer E. Howard Hunt to conduct the Brookings break-in.
“You talk to Hunt,” Nixon told Haldeman. “I want the break-in. Hell, they do that. You’re to break into the place, rifle the files, and bring them in. Just go in and take it. Go in around 8:00 or 9:00 o’clock.”
Haldeman: “Make an inspection of the safe.”
Nixon: “That’s right. You go in to inspect the safe. I mean, clean it up.”
For reasons that remain unclear, it appears that the Brookings break-in never took place (nor did the fire-bombing), but Nixon’s desperation to locate Johnson’s peace-talk file was an important link in the chain of events that led to the creation of Nixon’s burglary unit under Hunt’s supervision. Hunt later oversaw the two Watergate break-ins in May and June of 1972.
While it’s possible that Nixon was still searching for the file about his Vietnam-peace sabotage when the ill-fated Watergate break-ins occurred a year later, it’s generally believed that the burglary was more broadly focused, seeking any information that might have an impact on Nixon’s re-election, either defensively or offensively.
However, if you think back on 1971 when the Vietnam War was tearing the country apart and massive antiwar demonstrations were descending on Washington, Nixon’s desperation to locate the missing file suddenly doesn’t seem quite so crazy. There would have been hell to pay if the public learned that Nixon had kept the war going to gain a political advantage in 1968.
Through 1972 – and the early days of the Watergate scandal – former President Johnson had stayed silent about Nixon’s sabotage of the Paris peace talks. But the ex-President became livid when – after Nixon’s reelection in 1972 – Nixon’s men sought to pressure Johnson into helping them shut down the Watergate investigation, in part, by noting that Johnson, too, had deployed wiretaps against Nixon’s 1968 campaign to obtain evidence about the peace-talk sabotage.
While it’s not clear whether Johnson would have finally spoken out, that threat to Nixon ended two days after Nixon’s second inaugural when on Jan. 22, 1973, Johnson died of a heart attack. However, unbeknownst to Nixon, Johnson had left the missing file, called “The X-Envelope,” in the care of Rostow, who – after Johnson’s death – gave the file to the LBJ presidential library in Austin, Texas, with instructions that it be kept under wraps for at least 50 years. (Rostow’s instructions were overturned in the 1990s, and I found the now largely declassified file at the library in 2012.)
So, with the “The X-Envelope” squirreled away for more than two decades at the LBJ library and with the big newspapers treating the early sketchy reports of Nixon’s peace-talk sabotage as only “rumors,” Watergate remained a scandal limited to the 1972 campaign.
Still, Nixon’s cover-up of his campaign’s role in the Watergate break-in produced enough clear-cut evidence of obstruction of justice and other offenses that Nixon was forced to resign on Aug. 9, 1974.
A Failed Investigation
The 1979-81 hostage confrontation with Iran was not nearly as devastating a crisis as the Vietnam War but America’s humiliation during the 444-day-long ordeal became a focus of the 1980 election, too, with the first anniversary of Iran’s seizure of the U.S. Embassy in Tehran coincidentally falling on Election Day 1980.
President Carter’s failure to gain freedom for the 52 embassy personnel turned what had been a close race into a landslide for Ronald Reagan, with Republicans also gaining control of the U.S. Senate and ousting some of the most influential Democratic senators.
In 1984, Reagan won reelection in another landslide, but two years later ran afoul of the Iran-Contra scandal. Reagan’s secret arms sales to Iran and diversion of profits to the Contras “broke” in November 1986 but focused only on Reagan’s 1985-1986 arms sales and the diversion. Still, the scandal’s crimes included violations of the Arms Export Control Act and the so-called Boland Act’s prohibitions on arming the Contras as well as perjury and obstruction of justice. So there was the prospect of Reagan’s impeachment.
But – from the start of Iran-Contra – there was a strong pushback from Republicans who didn’t want to see another GOP president driven from office. There was also resistance to the scandal from many mainstream media executives who personally liked Reagan and feared a public backlash if the press played an aggressive role similar to Watergate.
And, moderate Democrats, such as Rep. Lee Hamilton of Indiana who co-chaired the congressional investigation, sought to tamp down the Iran-Contra fires and set up firebreaks to prevent the investigation from spreading to related crimes such as the Reagan administration’s protection of Contra cocaine traffickers.
“Ask about the cocaine,” pleaded one protester who was dragged from the Iran-Contra hearing room, as the congressional investigators averted their eyes from such unseemly matters, focusing instead on stilted lectures about the Congress’s constitutional prerogatives.
It was not until 1990-91 that it became clear that secret U.S.-approved arms shipments to Iran did not start in 1985 as the Iran-Contra narrative claimed but traced back to 1981 with Reagan’s approval of arms sales to Iran through Israel.
Reagan’s politically risky move of secretly arming Iran immediately after his inauguration and the hostage release was nearly exposed when one of the Israeli flights strayed into Soviet airspace on July 18, 1981, and crashed or was shot down.
In a PBS interview nearly a decade later, Nicholas Veliotes, Reagan’s assistant secretary of state for the Middle East, said he looked into the incident by talking to top administration officials.
“It was clear to me after my conversations with people on high that indeed we had agreed that the Israelis could transship to Iran some American-origin military equipment,” Veliotes said.
In checking out the Israeli flight, Veliotes came to believe that the Reagan camp’s dealings with Iran dated back to before the 1980 election. “It seems to have started in earnest in the period probably prior to the election of 1980, as the Israelis had identified who would become the new players in the national security area in the Reagan administration,” Veliotes said. “And I understand some contacts were made at that time.”
However, in 1981, Veliotes said, the State Department issued misleading press guidance to cover the administration’s tracks and the Washington media failed to follow up. Thus, the U.S.-Israeli arms pipeline to Iran stayed secret from the American people until November 1986 when — despite Reagan’s long-running insistence that he would never trade arms with a terrorist state like Iran — the operation was exposed.
When I re-interviewed Veliotes in 2012, he said he couldn’t recall who the “people on high” were who had described the informal clearance of the Israeli shipments of U.S.-manufactured weapons, but he indicated that “the new players” were the young neoconservatives who were working on the Reagan campaign, many of whom later joined the administration as senior political appointees.
Documents that I discovered at the Reagan presidential library revealed that Reagan’s neocons at the State Department, particularly Robert McFarlane and Paul Wolfowitz, initiated a policy review in 1981 to allow Israel to undertake secret military shipments to Iran.
McFarlane and Wolfowitz also maneuvered to put McFarlane in charge of U.S. relations toward Iran and to establish a clandestine U.S. back-channel to the Israeli government outside the knowledge of even senior U.S. government officials.
Another Failed Investigation
In 1991, faced with the accumulating evidence of a prequel to the Iran-Contra scandal, Congress grudgingly agreed to take a look at these so-called “October Surprise” allegations. But Republicans, then led by President George H.W. Bush and his White House team, mounted an aggressive cover-up to “spike” the story.
And, with the congressional inquiry largely in the hands again of Rep. Hamilton, the Democrats timidly folded their tent despite a growing body of evidence that the Reagan team was indeed guilty.
Much of that evidence flowed into the House Task Force in December 1992 when President George H.W. Bush had already been defeated for reelection and the Democrats were looking forward to their renewed control of Washington. So, instead of giving a careful review to the new evidence, the House Task Force ignored, disparaged or buried it.
The late-arriving material included sworn testimony on Dec. 18, 1992, from David Andelman, the biographer of French intelligence chief Alexandre deMarenches, describing how deMarenches had confided that he had helped arrange the Republican-Iranian contacts. Andelman, an ex-New York Times and CBS News correspondent, said that while he was working on deMarenches’s autobiography, the arch-conservative spymaster admitted arranging meetings between Republicans and Iranians about the hostage issue in the summer and fall of 1980, with one meeting held in Paris in October.
Andelman said deMarenches ordered that the secret meetings be kept out of his memoirs because the story could otherwise damage the reputations of his friends, William Casey and George H.W. Bush. Andelman’s testimony corroborated longstanding claims from a variety of international intelligence operatives about a Paris meeting involving Casey and Bush. But the Task Force report brushed this testimony aside, paradoxically terming it “credible” but then claiming it was “insufficiently probative.”
The Task Force’s report argued that Andelman could not “rule out the possibility that deMarenches had told him he was aware of and involved in the Casey meetings because he, deMarenches, could not risk telling his biographer he had no knowledge of these allegations.”
In the last weeks of the investigation, the House investigators also received a letter from former Iranian President Bani-Sadr detailing his behind-the-scenes struggle with Ayatollah Ruhollah Khomeini and his son Ahmad over their secret dealings with the Reagan campaign. But the House investigators dismissed Bani-Sadr’s first-hand account as hearsay and thus also lacking “probative value.”
I later unearthed some of the evidence in unpublished Task Force files. However, in the meantime, Official Washington had dismissed the “October Surprise” and other Iran-Contra-connected scandals, like Contra drug trafficking, as conspiracy theories.
The Russian Report
Ironically, another piece of late-arriving evidence was a January 1993 report from a national security committee of the Russian parliament about the Kremlin’s intelligence data confirming that key Republicans, including George H.W. Bush and William Casey, had met with Iranian officials in Europe regarding the hostages during the 1980 campaign.
Hamilton had requested the Russian assistance before the U.S. election in 1992, but the report was not sent until there were only two weeks left in George H.W. Bush’s presidency.
Lawrence Barcella, who served as the Task Force chief counsel, later told me that so much incriminating evidence arrived late that he asked Hamilton to extend the inquiry for three months but that Hamilton said no (although Hamilton told me that he had no recollection of denying Barcella’s request).
The other fatal flaw of the House investigation was that it left much of the actual investigating up to President George H.W. Bush’s White House counsel’s office and the State Department, although Bush was one of the chief suspects and, in 1991-92, was running for re-election, a campaign that would have been derailed if the 1980 October Surprise allegations were confirmed.
The naivete of this decision was underscored years later when I located a memo at Bush’s presidential library stating that the State Department had informed the White House counsel’s office that Casey had traveled to Madrid in 1980, corroborating a key October Surprise allegation.
The confirmation of Casey’s trip was passed along by State Department legal adviser Edwin D. Williamson to Associate White House Counsel Chester Paul Beach Jr. in early November 1991, just as the October Surprise inquiry was taking shape, according to Beach’s “memorandum for record” dated Nov. 4, 1991.
Williamson said that among the State Department “material potentially relevant to the October Surprise allegations [was] a cable from the Madrid embassy indicating that Bill Casey was in town, for purposes unknown,” Beach noted.
Two days later, on Nov. 6, 1991, Beach’s boss, White House counsel C. Boyden Gray, arranged an inter-agency strategy session and explained the need to contain the congressional investigation into the October Surprise case. The explicit goal was to ensure the scandal would not hurt President Bush’s reelection hopes in 1992.
In 2013, when I interviewed Hamilton about the Beach memo, he lamented that the Madrid information had not been shared with his investigation, saying “you have to rely on people” in authority to comply with information requests.
“We found no evidence to confirm Casey’s trip to Madrid,” Hamilton told me. “We couldn’t show that. The [George H.W. Bush] White House did not notify us that he did make the trip. Should they have passed that on to us? They should have because they knew we were interested in that.”
Asked if knowledge that Casey had traveled to Madrid might have changed the Task Force’s dismissive October Surprise conclusion, Hamilton said yes, because the question of the Madrid trip was key to the task force’s investigation.
Not Moving the Needle
However, the Madrid trip revelation and other post-investigation disclosures failed to move the needle on Official Washington’s disdain for the October Surprise story.
The later disclosures included a 1993 interview in Tel Aviv in which former Israeli Prime Minister Yitzhak Shamir said he had read the 1991 book, October Surprise, by Carter’s former National Security Council aide Gary Sick, which made the case for believing that the Republicans had intervened in the 1980 hostage negotiations to disrupt Carter’s reelection.
With the topic raised, one interviewer asked, “What do you think? Was there an October Surprise?”
“Of course, it was,” Shamir responded without hesitation. “It was.”
And, there were other corroborating statements as well. In 1996, for instance, while former President Carter was meeting with Palestine Liberation Organization leader Arafat in Gaza City, Arafat tried to confess his role in the Republican maneuvering to block Carter’s Iran-hostage negotiations.
“There is something I want to tell you,” Arafat said, addressing Carter in the presence of historian Douglas Brinkley. “You should know that in 1980 the Republicans approached me with an arms deal [for the PLO] if I could arrange to keep the hostages in Iran until after the [U.S. presidential] election,” Arafat said, according to Brinkley’s article in the fall 1996 issue of Diplomatic Quarterly.
In 2013, after the movie “Argo” appeared regarding an early facet of the Iran-hostage crisis, former Iranian President Bani-Sadr elaborated on his account of Republican overtures to Iran in 1980 and how that secret initiative prevented release of the hostages.
In a Christian Science Monitor commentary, Bani-Sadr wrote, “Ayatollah Khomeini and Ronald Reagan had organized a clandestine negotiation which prevented the attempts by myself and then-U.S. President Jimmy Carter to free the hostages before the 1980 U.S. presidential election took place. The fact that they were not released tipped the results of the election in favor of Reagan.”
Then, Bani-Sadr added a new detail, that “two of my advisors, Hussein Navab Safavi and Sadr-al-Hefazi, were executed by Khomeini’s regime because they had become aware of this secret relationship between Khomeini, his son Ahmad, … and the Reagan administration.” [For more details on the October Surprise case, see Robert Parry’s Trick or Treason and America’s Stolen Narrative.]
Compare and Contrast
So how do Watergate and Iran-Contra compare and contrast with Russia-gate? One key difference is that in Watergate in 1972-73 and Iran-Contra in 1985-86, you had clear-cut crimes (even if you don’t want to believe the two “prequels” from 1968 and 1980, respectively).
In Watergate, five burglars were caught inside the DNC offices on June 17, 1972, as they sought to plant more bugs on Democratic phones. (An earlier break-in in May had installed two bugs, but one didn’t work.) Nixon then proceeded to mount a cover-up of his 1972 campaign’s role in funding the break-in and other abuses of power.
In Iran-Contra, Reagan secretly authorized weapons sales to Iran, which was then designated a terrorist state, without informing Congress, a violation of the Arms Export Control Act. He also kept Congress in the dark about his belated signing of a related intelligence “finding.” And the creation of slush funds to finance the Nicaraguan Contras represented an evasion of the U.S. Constitution.
There was also the attendant Iran-Contra cover-up mounted both by the Reagan White House and later the George H.W. Bush White House, which culminated in Bush’s Christmas Eve 1992 pardons of six Iran-Contra defendants as special prosecutor Lawrence Walsh was zeroing in on possible indictment of Bush for withholding evidence.
By contrast, Russia-gate has been a “scandal” in search of a specific crime. President Barack Obama’s intelligence chieftains have alleged – without presenting any clear evidence – that the Russian government hacked into the emails of the Democratic National Committee and of Hillary Clinton’s campaign chairman John Podesta and released those emails via WikiLeaks and other Internet sites. (The Russians and WikiLeaks have both denied the accusations.)
The DNC emails revealed that senior Democrats did not maintain their required independence regarding the primaries by seeking to hurt Sen. Bernie Sanders and help Clinton. The Podesta emails pulled back the curtain on Clinton’s paid speeches to Wall Street banks and on pay-to-play features of the Clinton Foundation.
Hacking into personal computers is a crime, but the U.S. government has yet to bring any formal charges against specific individuals supposedly responsible for the hacking of the Democratic emails. There also has been no evidence that Donald Trump’s campaign colluded with Russians in the hacking.
Lacking any precise evidence of this cyber-crime or of a conspiracy between Russia and the Trump campaign, Obama’s Justice Department holdovers and now special prosecutor Robert Mueller have sought to build “process crimes,” around false statements to investigators and possible obstruction of justice.
Railroading Flynn
In the case of retired Lt. Gen. Michael Flynn, Trump’s first national security adviser, acting Attorney General Sally Yates used the archaic Logan Act of 1799 to create a predicate for the FBI to interrogate Flynn about a Dec. 29, 2016 conversation with Russian Ambassador Sergey Kislyak, i.e., after Trump’s election but before the Inauguration.
The Logan Act, which has never resulted in a prosecution in 218 years, was enacted during the period of the Alien and Sedition Acts to bar private citizens from negotiating on their own with foreign governments. It was never intended to apply to a national security adviser of an elected President, albeit before he was sworn in.
But it became the predicate for the FBI interrogation — and the FBI agents were armed with a transcript of the intercepted Kislyak-Flynn phone call so they could catch Flynn on any gaps in his recollection, which might have been made even hazier because he was on vacation in the Dominican Republic when Kislyak called.
Yates also concocted a bizarre argument that the discrepancies between Flynn’s account of the call and the transcript left him open to Russian blackmail although how that would work – since the Russians surely assumed that Kislyak’s calls would be monitored by U.S. intelligence and thus offered them no leverage with Flynn – was never explained.
Still, Flynn’s failure to recount the phone call precisely and the controversy stirred up around it became the basis for an obstruction of justice investigation of Flynn and led to President Trump’s firing Flynn on Feb. 13.
Trump may have thought that tossing Flynn overboard to the circling sharks would calm down the sharks but the blood in the water only excited them more. According to then-FBI Director James Comey, Trump talked to him one-on-one the next day, Feb. 14, and said, “‘I hope you can see your way clear to letting this go, to letting Flynn go. He is a good guy. I hope you can let this go.”
Trump’s “hope” and the fact that he later fired Comey have reportedly led special prosecutor Mueller to look at a possible obstruction of justice case against Trump. In other words, Trump could be accused of obstructing what appears to have been a trumped-up case against Flynn.
Of course, there remains the possibility that evidence might surface of Trump or his campaign colluding with the Russians, but such evidence has so far not been presented. Or Mueller’s investigation might turn over some rock and reveal some unrelated crime, possibly financial wrongdoing by Trump or an associate.
(Something similar happened in the Republican investigation of the Sept. 11, 2012 Benghazi attack, a largely fruitless inquiry except that it revealed that Secretary of State Hillary Clinton sent and received official emails over a private server, which Comey decried during last year’s campaign as “extremely careless” but not criminal.)
Curb the Enthusiasm
Another contrast between the earlier scandals (Watergate and Iran-Contra) and Russia-gate is the degree of enthusiasm and excitement that the U.S. mainstream media and congressional Democrats have shown today as opposed to 1972 and 1986.
Though The Washington Post’s Bob Woodward and Carl Bernstein aggressively pursued the Watergate scandal, there was much less interest elsewhere in major news outlets until Nixon’s criminality became obvious in 1973. Many national Democrats, including DNC Chairman Bob Strauss, were extremely hesitant to pursue the scandal if not outright against it.
Similarly, although Brian Barger and I at The Associated Press were pursuing aspects of Iran-Contra since early 1985, the big newspapers and networks consistently gave the Reagan administration the benefit of the doubt – at least before the scandal finally burst into view in fall 1986 (when a Contra-supply plane crashed inside Nicaragua and a Lebanese newspaper revealed U.S. arms shipments to Iran).
For several months, there was a flurry of attention to the complex Iran-Contra scandal, but the big media still ignored evidence of a White House cover-up and soon lost interest in the difficult work of unraveling the convoluted networks for arms smuggling, money laundering and cocaine trafficking.
Congressional Democrats also shied away from a constitutional confrontation with the popular Reagan and his well-connected Vice President George H.W. Bush.
After moving from AP to Newsweek in early 1987, I learned that the senior executives at Newsweek, then part of The Washington Post Company, didn’t want “another Watergate”; they felt another such scandal was not “good for the country” and wanted Iran-Contra to go away as soon as possible. I was even told not to read the congressional Iran-Contra report when it was published in October 1987 (although I ignored that order and kept trying to keep my own investigation going in defiance of the wishes of the Newsweek brass until those repeated clashes led to my departure in June 1990).
So, perhaps the biggest similarity between Russia-gate and Watergate is that Richard Nixon and Donald Trump were both highly unpopular with the Washington establishment and thus had few influential defenders, while an important contrast with Iran-Contra was that Reagan and Bush were very well liked, especially among news executives such as Washington Post publisher Katharine Graham who, by all accounts, did not care for the uncouth Nixon. Today, the senior executives of The New York Times, The Washington Post and other major news outlets have made no secret of their disdain for the buffoonish Trump and their hostility toward Russian President Vladimir Putin.
In other words, what is driving Russia-gate – for both the mainstream news media and the Democrats – appears to be a political agenda, i.e., the desire to remove Trump from office while also ratcheting up a New Cold War with Russia, a priority for Washington’s neoconservatives and their liberal-interventionist sidekicks.
If this political drama were playing out in some other country, we would be talking about a “soft coup” in which the “oligarchy” or some other “deep state” force was using semi-constitutional means to engineer a disfavored leader’s removal.
Of course, since the ongoing campaign to remove Trump is happening in the United States, it must be presented as a principled pursuit of truth and a righteous application of the rule of law. But the comparisons to Watergate and Iran-Contra are a stretch.

White House "tapes": Here's the news you won't hear anywhere else

This post will take you on a journey through the kind of history not taught in school. But before we get to the weird and wild stuff, we must note yesterday's big news: Donald Trump now denies that he recorded former FBI Director James Comey:
With all of the recently reported electronic surveillance, intercepts, unmasking and illegal leaking of information, I have no idea......whether there are "tapes" or recordings of my conversations with James Comey, but I did not make, and do not have, any such recordings.
Rachel Maddow devoted a large part of her show to Trump's admission, in court, that he has lied about recording conversations with one of his biographers. (That is, Trump at first bragged about making recordings and then later claimed that those those boasts were false.) She obviously doubts the reality of those alleged recordings. Call me a natural-born contrarian, but I think she's wrong. I also disagree with Lawrence O'Donnell, who offers his own views in the video embedded above.

Why do I tend to believe in the existence of the Comey "tapes"? First: We know that Trump has made such recordings in the past. Second: We have a clear photograph of a digital voice recorder on Trump's desk in the Oval Office. Let's have no jokes about Trump's maladroit way with technology: I happen to own an Olympus digital voice recorder myself, and I assure you that a small child can operate it. If the internal mic is on the correct setting, the device can capture a conversation on the other side of the room.

So why has Trump backtracked from his impulsively-made "tape" claims, both in that long-ago court case and in the recent Comey situation? Simple: He realized belatedly that making the recordings public would do him much more harm than good. If he admitted that he taped Comey, Mueller would demand to hear that recording and other recordings as well. That situation could get really sticky really fast.

What was the purpose of Trump's theatrical delay before denying the existence of "tapes"? I don't know. His strange behavior seems indicative of -- well, of something, though I'm not sure what that "something" might be.

The wording of his tweeted statement becomes more ominous on second read: "With all of the recently reported electronic surveillance, intercepts, unmasking and illegal leaking of information..." Obviously, he's hewing to an agreed-upon propaganda line designed to paint Obama and Susan Rice as sinister agents of the Deep State, but his text also conveys the hint of a threat. Perhaps he intended to convey this message: "Recordings may indeed exist. But if and when they come out, I won't let you saddle me with the legal consequences."

The Nixon factor. In recent weeks, we've seen innumerable rehashes of the Watergate tapes. Nobody on teevee ever gets the story right, because only people with a superficial view of history are ever allowed on camera.

Here's an all-important detail you probably don't know: There were multiple parties recording Nixon's White House.

Why didn't Nixon burn the tapes in his possession? Because he knew that he didn't have the only copies. Strong evidence suggests that another set of recordings were held by CIA counterintelligence chief James Angleton.

Before we get much further with our story, it is important to understand that Angleton had become a Nixon opponent from the right. Nixon pursued a policy of detente, which Angleton detested. Moreover, the legendarily paranoid CIA molehunter considered Kissinger a Soviet agent -- an absurd idea which Angleton couldn't give up.

(Long-time readers may accuse me of having an Angleton obsession. True enough. But hear me out: In this case, much of the evidence is compelling.)

In 1975, New York Times foreign affairs correspondent Tad Szulc -- one of the most-respected journalists in American history -- published a lengthy article in Penthouse on electronic eavesdropping in Washington. (Back then, both Penthouse and Playboy paid big bucks for "quality" articles by big-name writers.) His work was summarized by the Washington Post and republished in the report of a congressional committee (here). After that, the whole thing went down the memory hole. If you bring up now what Szulc said then, you'll be dismissed as one of those awful, awful conspiracy theorists -- even though nobody felt that way back in 1975.

Here is the relevant section of Szulc's piece:
One extraordinary example is the tiny laser-beam transmitter embedded in the wall of the Oval Office at the White House. This transmitter picked up and relayed to a remote recording center every conversation between Richard M. Nixon and his aides, friends, and visitors during at least several months in 1970, the year the former president launched his secret domestic intelligence program. Presidential telephone conversations, including those conducted over "secure" scrambler lines, were also picked up by the laser transmitter.

The existence in the presidential office of this highly sophisticated device, known by the code name "Easy Chair," remains one of the most sensitive, closely guarded, and intriguing secrets of the Nixon period. This knowledge is restricted to about a dozen key past and present officials of the Intelligence Community. But the precise purpose of the operation, the exact identity of those who ordered the installation of the laser device under a coat of fresh paint on the Oval Office wall, and the ultimate disposition of the instrument remain unclear. Nor do we know if tapes were made of these transmissions — which is perhaps, the most crucial question.

It is also not known if Nixon himself was aware of and consented to the installation. If he did, the laser system complemented his hidden recording devices that produced the famous White House tapes. (In any event, the laser device picked up with infinitely more clarity every word uttered in the Oval Office, eliminating the "unintelligible" gaps that affected the tapes. In addition, the laser system permits, unlike a tape recorder, the identification of every individual voice in a room and the separation of several simultaneous conversations.) It is not known where the laser beam signal was received, but technical experts believe that such a device has a transmission range of under a half mile along a clear line of sight. The laser beam must be aimed out a window — it would be deflected by a wall. In the case of the Oval Office it had to go through the panes of the French doors leading to the Rose Garden.

Highly reliable sources told Penthouse that one or more senior officials of the Secret Service and the Central Intelligence Agency are familiar with the "Easy Chair'- situation in the White House, although they could not say whether they learned of it only when the laser device was discovered and removed early in August 1970, or whether they knew at some earlier date. The sources would not rule out that the late J. Edgar Hoover, then director of the Federal Bureau of Investigation, was also privy to "Easy Chair.'

In any event, this super-bugging of the presidential office looms as one of the most bizarre episodes in the still unfolding story of domestic spying carried out by six successive administrations, but climaxing most spectacularly during Nixon's tenure.

Penthouse learned of this bugging of the Oval Office as a result of a lengthy investigation. According to highly authoritative sources, the person who installed the laser transmitter, possibly on a second attempt when an original device did not function properly, is a foreign-born individual employed as a painter by the government and apparently controlled by one of the intelligence agencies. His name as well as a number of other relevant details are withheld from publication to avoid causing suffering and embarrassment to persons innocently involved in this operation.
When Michael Beschloss appears on MSNBC to deliver the "lite" version of Watergate, he doesn't tell you about that material.

The idea of a "laser microphone" may seem like something out of Marvel comics, but as this Wikipedia article notes, the basic concept goes back to the 1940s, well before the invention of lasers. You can find various references to Easy Chair on the web, if you know where to look -- for example, here. (That link goes to It's a rah-rah pro-spook site, so don't go there expecting to see any references to bugs in the White House.)

The FBI factor. Szulc's 1975 article hints at an even larger story. Take another look at this passage: "The sources would not rule out that the late J. Edgar Hoover, then director of the Federal Bureau of Investigation, was also privy to "Easy Chair.'"

Question: Why did Szulc bring up Hoover? That bit of name-dropping comes out of the blue. Another question: Given the strained relations between CIA and the FBI, just how did Hoover learn about Easy Chair?

The Hoover claim must be considered in conjunction with another passage: "...technical experts believe that such a device has a transmission range of under a half mile along a clear line of sight." These words bring up an obvious quandary: Where would the eavesdroppers place the receiver?

I think that Szulc offered a big clue when he brought up J. Edgar Hoover. No, I'm not talking about the FBI Building, which did not open until 1975. (Besides, it stands outside the half-mile radius.) Curt Gentry's invaluable biography J. Edgar Hoover: The Man and the Secrets (page 633) suggests a much better location:
The FBI had a number of secret listening posts in Washington and its environs, including a large facility at the FBI Academy at Quantico, Virginia -- it was from here that the wires of the Central Intelligence Agency, at nearby Langley, were supposedly tapped -- but the heart of its electronic surveillance operations was the Old Post Office Building, which was located in the Federal Triangle, close to the FBI headquarters in the Justice Department Building but far enough away that an attorney general wouldn't accidentally walk in.

Since the Post Office had moved into its new building in 1934, the Bureau had gradually taken over most of the old building. Here, behind locked doors, with the tightest possible security, scores of monitors sat in front of small consoles, earphones on their heads, listening to, and recording, thousands of conversations.
The Old Post Office Building was the obvious choice for the "Easy Chair" surveillance operation. The building code in D.C. enforces a strict height restriction, but the tower of the the Old Post Office Building predates that law. Except for the Washington Monument, no other place in the city offers a higher vantage point. The tower offers superb line-of-sight access to all sort of interesting places.

Although a tree now blocks the way, in Nixon's time, the Old Post Office Building tower offered a direct view of the windows of the Oval Office. Moreover, the Old Post Office Building is just within our 1/2 mile radius.

The photo published above and to the right was taken from the tower; the White House is in the upper center, behind the Treasury Building (the grey building with columns in front). The "Marine One" photo below, taken in 1970, proves that the foliage was once much less dense.

The Trump factor. Of course, the Old Post Office Building is now owned by none other than Donald Trump. I've never read anything to suggest that the Hoover-era surveillance equipment was completely removed from that building.

You may recall that Trump has said that he expects to be under surveillance in foreign hotels. Perhaps he knows about such things because he has allowed surveillance to take place within his hotels.

As we've seen in several previous posts, some very shady characters have had offices and living quarters in Trump Tower. These characters were so very shady that the FBI had them under surveillance. Could the Bureau have bugged those locations without help from the owner of the building? Possibly -- but you must admit that the operation would have been a lot easier with Trump's acquiesence.

We've also heard the suggestion that Trump himself may have functioned as an FBI asset:
As all readers of Wayne Barret and David Cay Johnston know, Donald Trump has gotten away with all sorts of legally dubious crap over the years. It makes sense that Donnie would protect his interests by making various deals with the feds.

You may have noticed that Trump Tower has a history of renting to high-level crooks, and that the feds always found it easy to "tapp" those particular suites. (Apparently, there has been a lot of bugging in that building.) One example would be Felix Sater, a former Trump Tower tenant who himself functioned as an FBI informant.
At one time, there were plans to transform the Old Post Office Building into a Women's Museum. Is it outlandish to suggest that the intelligence community, for reasons of its own, has always wanted to see that building function as a Trump hotel?

The Angleton Factor. J. Edgar Hoover's motive for spying on the White House should be obvious. As most people know, he maintained power by obtaining blackmail material -- what we now call "kompromat" -- on everyone in town, including the various residents of 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue.

So why would I bring James Angleton of the CIA into this story?

He, too, was renown for conducting surveillance on everyone in town. Moreover, he would discuss each night's eavesdropping haul with DCI Allen Dulles. From Michael Holzman's Angleton bio, quoting Tom Braden:
"Angleton would come into Allen's office first thing in the morning and report what his bugs had picked up the night before. He used to delight Allen with stories of what happened at people's dinner parties...Jim used to come unto Allen's office and Allen would say, 'How's the fishing?' And Jim would say, 'Well, I got a few nibbles last night.' It was all done in the guise of fishing talk."
Some have wondered how Angleton acquired the ability to eavesdrop on so many people. The answer is simple: His staff did not do the actual surveillance work. J. Edgar Hoover allowed Angleton to have access to the electronic intelligence that kept streaming into the Old Post Office Building.

Why was the notoriously territorial John Edgar Hoover willing to share this remarkable haul with Jim Angleton, a man he had little reason to like? Because Angleton possessed "kompromat" on the FBI Director, in the form of photographs of homosexual activity involving Hoover and Clyde Tolson.

The photos themselves have never been published. Their existence was first revealed to the public in 1993, by British author Anthony Summers, whose main source was an infamous electronics expert named Gordon Novel. Circa 1990, I played a small role in publicizing Novel's claim about the Hoover/Tolson photo, which he originally made in a private phone conversation with a pilot linked to the intelligence community. The pilot taped the call; I somehow got hold of a transcript and passed it along to -- well, to all sorts of people. (Kinkos was my second home back in those pre-internet days, and my Rolodex had some interesting names and addresses.) Eventually, the document reached a Summers associate, with whom I later spoke. Fortunately, the British journalist was able to find a secondary source for the story; he even got Novel to repeat the claim on camera for a Frontline documentary, which is probably online.

(Somewhere along the way, I was threatened by Novel, which quite disturbed me at the time. I later learned that such threats were simply his way of saying "Hi.")

All of which brings us back to the tapes of the Nixon White House.

At CIA, Novel dealt pretty much exclusively with Angleton. That fact explains why Charles Colson sounded out Novel concerning a rather bizarre scheme to erase the Watergate tapes using a "degaussing gun." This tentative plan was first described by columnist Jack Anderson in August of 1974. (Many years later, during an impromptu radio interview, Novel later said that the only reason he didn't do it was "They didn't pay me.")

Unfortunately, Anderson's rather garbled piece focuses on an alleged plan to degauss tapes stored in the White House basement. The story makes only the briefest of references to copies of the same White House conversations at CIA headquarters.

Almost no-one who read that article in 1974 understood the implications. Before the Watergate prosecutor knew of the existence of those tapes, before the public learned about the tapes, the White House understood that the CIA had copies of everything.

That single fact -- which (as we will see) Colson confirmed -- changes our entire view of Watergate.

The CIA had their own recordings of Nixon's conversations within the White House. You won't hear those words from Rachel Maddow or from any other MSNBC or CNN newsfolk offering Watergate retrospectives. Was the Colson/Novel "degaussing" plan practical or serious? I don't know and I don't care. Any such discussion diverts us from the history-changing words that have been hiding in plain sight since 1974: The CIA had their own recordings of Nixon's conversations within the White House.

Now you know the real reason why Nixon could not simply "burn the tapes." He knew that his tapes were not the sole tapes.

If Tad Szulc's 1975 story is accurate -- and I believe it is -- then the CIA recorded the Nixon White House using "Easy Chair" technology. Moreover, we have three excellent reasons to believe that these recordings fell into James Angelton's possession.

1. As noted above, there is good reason to believe that Angleton had access to the "take" from the Hoover's surveillance operation in the Old Post Office Building.

2. If you study Szulc's career, you'll see that he often used Angleton as a source. Szulc admitted as much in secret testimony delivered to the Church Committee. (See page 166 of Holzman's book.) I strongly believe that Angleton was Szulc's source for the 1975 article which revealed the existence of the CIA's "Easy Chair" project.

3. Gordon Novel made clear on more than one occasion that -- when it came to the CIA -- he dealt almost exclusively with Angleton. To erase tapes in Angleton's possession, Colson needed someone who could gain access to Angleton's office on the second floor of CIA headquarters. That "someone" would have been Novel.

The CIA factor. Suppose I'm wrong in my view that "Easy Chair" technology targeted Nixon. The conventional view holds that the White House taping system was installed by a tech guy named Alexander Butterfield, who later blabbed about the whole thing to the Watergate investigators.

Guess what? We still have a strong CIA connection.

Jim Hougan's invaluable Secret Agenda devotes part of its fourth chapter to the claims that the CIA had infiltrated the White House. Most people don't know that James McCord -- formerly a CIA man, later a Watergate burglar -- was brought on board by Alfred Wong, the technical director for the Secret Service.
As H. R. Haldeman has written: "Were there CIA 'plants' in the White House? On July 10, 1975, Chairman Lucien Nedzi of the House of Representatives Intelligence Committee released an Inspector-General's Report in which the CIA admitted there was a 'practice of detailing CIA employees to the White House and various government agencies.' The IG Report revealed there were CIA agents in 'intimate components of the Office of the President.' Domestic CIA plants are bad enough, but in 'intimate components' of the Office of the President'?" Haldeman then goes on to speculate about the identities of the CIA men in the White House. His main suspect is Alexander Butterfield, the former Air Force officer whose White House responsibilities included overall supervision of the presidential taping system. That system consisted of some two dozen room microphones and telephone taps that Wong's Secret Service detachment had installed in the White House and at Camp David; voice-activated by the Presidential Locator System or manually by Butterfield, the microphones and taps fed into a set of concealed Sony tape recorders. Haldeman's suspicions about Butterfield -- who denies that he was a CIA asset -- were shared by Rose Mary Woods, President Nixon's personal secretary. Together they criticize Butterfield for voluntarily revealing the existence of the taping system; they point with suspicion to Butterfield's early service as a military aide to GOP nemesis Joseph Califano, and make much of the fact that the circumstances of Butterfield's White House appointment are disputed.

Haldeman and Woods are not alone in their suspicions of Butterfield, or in their concern over the Inspector General's report. If Bill McMahon is correct, McCord's seconding of CIA personnel in undercover assignments at the White House amounted to the calculated infiltration of a uniquely sensitive Secret Service unit: the staff responsible for maintaining and servicing the presidential taping system, and for storing its product. Moreover, unless both Haldeman and McMahon are mistaken-about Butterfield's secret allegiance and McCord's loan of personnel to Wong-then the CIA would seem to have had unrivaled access to the President's private conversations and thoughts. Charles Colson, among others, believes that this is precisely what occurred. "The CIA had tapes of every thing relating to the White House," Colson told me. "And they destroyed them two days after [Senator Mike] Mansfield asked them to save all of their tapes."
This passage from Hougan does not necessarily conflict with the Szulc piece. Szulc describes a system to eavesdrop on the Oval Office -- but unlike all other presidents, Nixon didn't like to spend time there. If Agency personnel wanted to know that was going on in that administration, they would have to bug more than one room.

If the intelligence community knew Nixon's secrets in 1972, they must surely know Trump's secrets now.

Keep all of this history in mind whenever a Spookworld fanboy -- or fangirl (I'm looking at you, Louise) -- paints a naive, comforting picture of "heroic intelligence officers versus the Trump/Putin conspiracy." The situation was hardly simple in Nixon's day. The situation cannot possibly be so simple now.

Is the "deep state" is out to get Donald Trump? Not in my book. I think that a faction of the intelligence community is protecting him.

Nu-i chiar așa.

How come the great basement dwelling obi wan has not been summoned to the round table yet?

Because it is useful for one purpose to them, and that is doing what he has been doing to help them/tptb, form stronger SMP's (social media profiles) on posters of prepping and semi christian/patriot sites.
Why? To be used against "we the people" when the beast system is fully implemented.

“The Latest Economic Numbers Scream Civil War and World War III”
“The Latest Economic Numbers Scream Civil War and World War III”
by Common Sense

“The news headline should be, today, that Senator Dick Durbin and Bernie Sanders had direct contact with Hodgkinson prior to his assassination attempt upon the Republican congressman at the Congressional baseball team practice according to the AP. Durbin is refusing to make his email contacts with Hodgkinson public. However, as dramatic as is this information is, the real news is the economy.

Global debt levels have surged to an insurmountable level.  For the only time in human history, the planet has recorded a whopping  $217 trillion in the first quarter of the year. Since these are raw numbers, most will not appreciate the gravity of the world’s economic situation. The adding of $217 trillion dollars of debt in the first 90 days of 2017, represents  327% of the world’s annual economic output, otherwise known as the GDP. These figures represent the economic research of the Institute of International Finance (IIF).

The Path to Civil War: If one is a DUD (i.e. Dumb Until Death as Steve Quayle puts it), please allow me to present this very bleak picture in another light. If you make $100,000 per year, but you are acquiring debt that equals $327,000 in the same year, what will happen to your family economically? It is safe to say that your first casualty would be your house and the second would be your car. The new bankruptcy laws would prevent you from erasing your debt and you would be put on a permanent repayment plan. In other words, extreme austerity would be imposed upon you.

Let’s take that surging debt and apply it to your state, say the state of Illinois which is totally insolvent. I recently interviewed economist Robert Kudla about this dire situation, if the $327% debt to income ratio visits your state, which it is beginning to. The state would default on its obligations and stop paying. In the meantime, under the new bankruptcy laws, a judge could order the citizens of that state, say Illinois, to be put on a payment plan. This would represent permanent serfdom because there is absolutely no hope of repaying the debt. This scenario would represent permanent financial enslavement and could accurately be said to represent the biggest financial bailout of all the bailouts in history.

I asked Bob Kudla, with regard to his example, why would someone not just leave Illinois and go to a state that is not as debt ridden? He replied that by this time, Illinois would likely have reciprocity agreements with every other state. Let’s reduce this scenario to the lowest common denominator. When this 327% bto income ratio is fully realized, every welfare payment, pension, 401K, state-owed debt and virtually every source of income would be subject to partial or full confiscation. And the people would say “It’s time for a revolution!” Exactly, that is the point, and this would be the goal of a Deep State that has nowhere to run and nowhere to hide because of its exposed criminality.

Implications for the Emerging Economies Are Devastating: In a desperate attempt by emerging economies to keep up with the Jones’, these countries have increased their borrowing by $3 trillion to $56 trillion according to the IIF. This equals a staggering 218% of their combined economic output and this debt is being added to by 5% per year, meaning that in 10 years, the economic value of these countries would have declined by 50% due to this one condition and this does not account for the great wealth destroyer, the inflation rate.

China Pushed to Hyperinflation, Will War Follow? The biggest contributor to the world’ debt to income figure is undoubtedly China. According to the IIF, China has added $2 trillion in debt over the first quarter of 2017. The International Monetary Fund (IMF) told China to control its ballooning debt, describing it as unusually high for a developing economy. China’s debt now represents 260% of its GDP.

According to the IIF, European economies have cut debt levels by $2 trillion in the past 12 months and many economic leaders accepted this as good news and our economic problems are in the past. Not so, says the experts. And if you are an American, the news is not good for the you as the US is approaching $20 trillion, which represents 10% of all global debt.

At least the Chinese are trying to do something about their situation. They are getting their people to invest in commodities and not in currency based instruments. I joked with Kudla that the Chinese should just sell their people gold. He wasn’t laughing at that comment. The sad part of the comment is that there is not enough gold to cover this massive and continually growing debt. I have concluded that those who are in gold can somewhat sidestep the coming freight train. However, you will, at some point have to fight to keep your gold from your neighbors as well as your government.

The US Is No Longer Immune to Its Bad Decision Making: If you, as an American worker are solvent today and feel as if you are cheating the downward economic trend, your day of reckoning is soon approaching as the IIF came to the following conclusions:

“Rising debt may create headwinds for long-term growth and eventually pose risks for financial stability…”

“In some cases, this sharp debt build-up has already started to become a drag on sovereign credit profiles, including in countries such as China and Canada…”

By the way, 70% of the debt is in dollars. This may prove comforting in that when the US and its state government’s default on its debt obligations, the rest of the world has already crashed. In my humble opinion, the world will be embroiled in civil war or world war, or both.

The US and the EU could increase interest rates in the near future in a futile effort to cover the debt, in fact, the Federal Reserve is doing just that. However, borrowers will have a hard time repaying debt because it is a bottomless pit. What debt you ask? How about the student loan debt of $1 trillion dollars which is crippling the young generation. How about the car loan debt which extends loan payments out to seven years with almost no credit checks (do you remember the housing bubble of 2007?). And then of course, there is the monster we know as hyperinflation as the world’s fiat currencies begin to explode. thus making it more expensive for borrowers to repay.

Conclusion: As you read the following please keep in mind that the entire estimated GDP of the planet is less than $70 trillion.

The United States government takes in about $2 trillion dollars per year. However, we have a national deficit of $20 trillion per year and that is the good news. We have an unfunded liability of $240 trillion dollars (i.e. Medicare, Social Security, etc) and the 800 pound gorilla in the room is the credit swap derivatives debt of $1.5 quadrillion dollars with an annual interest rate of $505 trillion per year. You do not need a calculator to tell you what is coming.

How will you survive? There is no guarantee. However, one can increase their chances by acquiring food, water filtration, guns, ammunition, gold and medicine.”

New York Times Forced To Retract Longstanding '17 Intel Agencies' Lie About Russian Hacking

Authored by Caitlin Johnstone via,

“Seventeen intelligence agencies”? - ?if you’ve been following the maniacal #TrumpRussia coverage to any extent, you’ve heard this phrase used uncritically, time and again, regardless of your ideological loyalties. Pundits, papers and rank-and-file establishment loyalists have been unquestioningly regurgitating the nonsensical line that 17 intelligence agencies confirmed Russian interference in the US elections ever since Hillary Clinton made that baseless assertion in a debate back in October.

The innate absurdity of the claim was immediately attacked by WikiLeaks and anti-establishment outlets who pointed out that this would necessarily need to involve full investigations from agencies like the Coast Guard, the DEA and the Energy Department in order to be true. Nevertheless, many high-profile pro-establishment outlets like Politifact and USA Today found Clinton’s claims to be 100 percent true on the grounds that James Clapper, then-Director of National Intelligence and notorious Russophobic racist, “speaks on behalf of” all 17 intelligence agencies. To this day Politifact stands by its false claim on the basis of that same spurious assertion.

It turns out, however, that in addition to Clapper’s office there were only three intelligence agencies involved in that assessment, not 17, and that the conclusions were drawn not by the actual agencies in full, but by a mere two dozen loyalists from those agencies hand-selected by Russophobic eugenicist Clapper himself. The great Robert Parry notes in his Consortium News article about this point, “as any intelligence expert will tell you, if you ‘hand-pick’ the analysts, you are really hand-picking the conclusion. For instance, if the analysts were known to be hard-liners on Russia or supporters of Hillary Clinton, they could be expected to deliver the one-sided report that they did.”

As reported by Parry, we have known about these facts since they emerged from Clapper’s racist face hole on May 8, and they were confirmed by former CIA Director John Brennan on May 23. And yet at a California technology conference on May 31, Hillary Clinton repeated the same lie she’s been spouting since October:

Seventeen agencies, all in agreement, which I know from my experience as a Senator and Secretary of State, is hard to get. They concluded with high confidence that the Russians ran an extensive information war campaign against my campaign, to influence voters in the election. They did it through paid advertising we think; they did it through false news sites; they did it through these thousand agents; they did it through machine learning, which you know, kept spewing out this stuff over and over again. The algorithms that they developed. So that was the conclusion.”

The “17 intelligence agencies” lie had been completely, thoroughly debunked for weeks, and yet not a soul called Clinton out on her brazen lie within the establishment press. Indeed, establishment pundits like Megyn Kelly continued to repeat the lie, and have continued to do so throughout the month of June.

All this changed when CNN was sent reeling by a 1–2–3-punch combination ensuing from its horrendously propagandistic Russia coverage, which has seen three of its journalists lose their jobs and sent the network into international disgrace. All of a sudden we are seeing establishment outlets getting a lot more conscientious about what they choose to publish about the Russian Federation, and today we saw none other than the New York Times posting the very first retraction of this long-debunked lie that we have seen in establishment media.

Correction: June 29, 2017

A White House Memo article on Monday about President Trump’s deflections and denials about Russia referred incorrectly to the source of an intelligence assessment that said Russia orchestrated hacking attacks during last year’s presidential election.

The assessment was made by four intelligence agencies — the Office of the Director of National Intelligence, the Central Intelligence Agency, the Federal Bureau of Investigation and the National Security Agency. The assessment was not approved by all 17 organizations in the American intelligence community.

You just know how that went down, too; the retraction tells a complete story with a beginning, middle and end. The article’s author repeated the “17 intelligence agencies” lie without so much as a second thought, because it’s something they’ve been saying for months and getting away with?—?hey, it’s only Russia, right? They’re the Official Bad Guys so we can print whatever we want about them. The Washington Post has been getting away with telling brazen lie after brazen lie about Russia and suffering no consequences for it whatsoever, so we’ve got plenty of wiggle room here. The article passed by the editors for the same reason, but then someone up top received a complaint about the false claim in the article and immediately pulled the author into his office, yelling, “You fool! What’s the matter with you? Are you trying to get us CNNed???”

As I never get tired of reminding the brainwashed consumers of mainstream media, Russiagate is bullshit, and we fucking told you so. The entire thing was sparked off by two dozen agents hand-selected by a racist man with a racist agenda, and only persists because the US deep state wants regime change in Moscow and Damascus. This moronic conspiracy theory has been permitted to march on for far too long, and in the meantime we’ve been goose stepped to the brink of World War 3 as a result of this administration’s idiotic behavior in Syria. That’s where a real resistance needs to happen; not a McResistance to imaginary threats fed to the masses by the lying corporate media, but a real resistance to a very real and tangible threat from actions by the Trump administration and the unelected power establishment with which he is unquestionably aligned in a nation that the United States has no business involving itself in whatsoever.

Come on, America. I know you can snap out of the trance they’ve got you in. I know you’ve got it in you. Slam the brakes on the course they’ve got you on. Protest US involvement in Syria. Don’t let them Iraq you again.

And to think the deep state of Obama is or was pushing the UN Agenda 21 plan to make us part of a Communist one world gov. excuse is climate change. I think the outrage going now is they were sure Hillary would win & continue Obama's policies to finish it. I had heard a mention of this once on the news by Glen Beck so I researched & found their document & couple of years later I found their document from their office of disarmament affairs, jest of it says "we must confiscate weapons from the hands of civilians so we can finish implementing Agenda 21!" But I think the mainstream media is actually "state run" media like communist countries had or have, only report on that view point!

"Searched for Two Documents for Proof Regarding Obama" by Reallucky1 - 7.1.17
Entry Submitted by Reallucky1 at 1:06 AM EDT on July 1, 2017

The Voice of Kwan Yin shares stories of Hope and Health -- based in Chinese Practical Wisdom.

Hello All:

The first report up top is the main reason we were made to wait for the release, as Obama had set up a greenbook tax for gifts and benefits. I searched for these documents for a couple days. These taxes would have significantly, effect the exchanges, and we would have been paying huge taxes on our humanitarian funds. Obama set up this tax to begin on July 1 2016 and it expires at midnight on June 30, 2017. President Trump would not let that happen, so you can see in the video, she specifically states that President Trump is fighting the Federal Reserve and that Obama and Hillary Clinton and their Deep State, are stopping this from happening. She does not hold back her opinions. After Zorra and other higher sources, have also stated Obama has nothing to do with the RV. She goes on to say that President Trump was too smart to let us get taxed, by these documents, and why the RV was synced to go off tonight, heading into the second quarter. Also, as stated the Dodd Frank Bill, has been officially removed as of midnight tonight, so it is great news for all.

We were told in the post Carcass by Yosef, that Obama was a bad clone, now he is a good clone, and we are to forget the horrendous 8 years of him as President, and think he is now good because he is releasing our money? Carrot dangling, hello world, the man had 8 years as President, and set up a tax to get as much of our blessing, even for himself as he could. I said that right not for the government, for Obama personally. Atleast we got Yosef to admit, that he realizes President Obama was a terrible President, but this takes the cake. Far stretch my friends, whether true or not, its a little too late now, as Obama will get zero credit from the RV, and will be all given to our current leader President Donald J Trump. To further complicate the situation, then he goes on to say that President Trump is toast, with a picture of an animal carcass as the featured picture. The reference here is President Trump is resembling this animal carcass, or is this the bone you were throwing the other poster, no pun intended. I wrote a complete post about Diplomatic Immunity, and how Washington DC is not a State. Hello clueless world, no President can ever be impeached, they can seal the records, or write an Executive Order to stop the prosecution. There has never been a President to ever be prosecuted because of Diplomatic Immunity. The reason Bill Clinton or Richard Nixon were never impeached. The only recourse is get them to step down. I have said many times, that President Trump if anything, may have made a deal, to work with the many law firms to bring down the Deep State. He may have even agreed, to step down in the interest of the New Republic, but it will be as a hero, and not one in shame. Do you think a Billionaire would have agreed, to let his reputation and brand name be destroyed, to save the failed nation? Not a chance, he will get his package deal, plus his Dinar exchange, I personally believe, that is what Jared Kushner and General Dunford, did on their first meeting to Iraq. Brought all of President Trump's Dinar to exchange.

My next question is why do we even need to hear anything about Obama, he was a seriously failed President, and what difference does it truly make whether Obama, Bush, Trump, or any President is in office? Why is politics, rearing its nasty head into our blessing for any reason. Our government has not worked for a very long time, but we can see how everything we do revolves around our opinion, of what our failed, bankrupt government is doing!!

When we read Heisenberg's Dog Shaming, I feel horrible for the way my country acted in world affairs. I also have watched many films from the military, about how sorry they are for destroying other countries, mainly Iraq. I blame the corporate mainstream media, for always having a dividing narrative, but truly no one really paid to anything the government was doing ever. Until an event takes place, or an election, we are a clueless nation. Fat and happy, Netflix and chill, struggle paycheck to paycheck, but never try to fix things the right way. In hindsight, the government made it very difficult to dispute them, and time consuming and costly. The New Republic, will be the government run by the people, we get a chance to truly make effective changes, and things good for the people of the nation, not to benefit the government, cause frankly they have failed us deeply. We are the laughing stock to the rest of the world. Not only am I sorry, I wish that I would have done something other than write letters. All it really did was put me on an email list for my Congressmen, that only begged for money every time I complained about issues. Just things that really make you think, but I believe the people of the world realize, that like them, we had little control, as the fear tactics and FEMA camps, and all that stuff was a little daunting. I am no longer afraid, of the people in charge, or the government, even the cops or Judges. I guess the true enlightenment is knowledge, and trying to get it right this time. Lessons learned, and I know that I will do a better job, than the elites, or governments, or corporate big wigs, that held the power in their hands for decades.

You can only have so much money, then the rest has no purpose to you. That is why I will share to make others not only knowledgeable, but wealthy.

I've been looking to find out more about Cynthia McKinney since she commented here in this very Vineyard Cafe around the time of the Trumpset of Hitlery, warning of how the Deep State would maneuver. So would like to share recent interview I just finished watching and would have to say that she is the most promising leader not only of black Americans but many other shades, that I see, so far. You'll see what I mean.....

The press should just be officially recognized as the propaganda wing of the corporate deep state.

Trump Proposal to Reorganize Refugee Bureaucracy Activates Deep State
Trump Proposal to Reorganize Refugee Bureaucracy Activates Deep State
I think Donald Trump will stay in office for the duration of his term -- he won't quit because he's obsessed with avoiding the appearance of weakness, and Senate Republicans wouldn't vote to convict if a post-2018 Democratic House managed to impeach him. I think Trump will run for reelection, and I think he could win.

So I pondered this suggestion from The Hill's Brent Bukowsky -- but I think it's a lousy idea:
Scarborough should run against Trump in 2020

Former Republican congressman and current MSNBC host Joe Scarborough ... should enter the GOP primaries and run against Trump in the 2020 presidential campaigns....

Scarborough is a serious man. He served in the House of Representatives as a Republican and conservative and has a body of knowledge and experience that far surpasses any understanding of policy and issues that Trump will ever possess...

If Scarborough were to run for president, he could run against Trump as a Reagan Republican who does not praise dictators from Russia to the Philippines. He could run against Trump and promise he would not humiliate his secretary of State by proposing to cut the budget for the State Department by 30 percent, as Trump has done, or permitting a laughably inexperienced son-in-law to act like a shadow secretary of State, as Trump does every day....

Scarborough would be a strong and serious candidate.
The 2020 race should be a referendum on the job performance of Trump and his party -- but if Scarborough runs, the story of the first part of the campaign will be Trump Versus the Highfalutin East Coast Establishment, with Scarborough standing for all the Acela Corridor elitists the Trump coalition hates.

And I don't just mean white working-class deplorables -- financially comfortable Middle American suburbanites have also accepted the notion that there's a Deep State trying to oust Trump out of no motivation other than pure malice.

Trump won't have made the country better, so he's likely to have some trouble motivating voters in 2020 -- but a primary challenge from Scarborough, who can be portrayed as the blow-dried epitome of everything Trump voters hate, will get the juices flowing. Trump will be energized by the contest. Beating Scarborough will be like beating Jeb Bush or Marco Rubio -- a large percentage of GOP voters will think Trump deserves a second term precisely because he beat Scarborough.

And Trump would win. Oh, sure, Scarborough might do fairly well in New Hampshire, where right-centrists always have a chance. But in the South, West, and Midwest? Forget it. Trump is still seen as the blue-collar guy, the honorary redneck. Scarborough won't have a chance.

But couldn't a scare from Scarborough in a few states embarrass Trump? Yes, Eugene McCarthy's strong second-place showing in the 1968 New Hampshire Democratic primary was followed a couple of weeks later by Lyndon Johnson's withdrawal from the race. But Trump isn't going to retreat if he almost loses a key primary. Even if Scarborough overperforms, Trump will still win the nomination in the end, because there are more GOP voters who are motivated by anger than by respectability -- and winning is all that matters, to him and to his base. (See: November 2016 election results.)

A Scarborough challenge would also reduce the Democratic primary contest to second-tier status -- as in 2012, the media would regard the GOP contest as the one with all the glamour and excitement.

If Scarborough runs against Trump, the contest will be about the vendetta, not about issues. Please note that right now we're talking about Trump's Brzezinski/Scarborough tweets more than we're talking about the possible revival of the McConnellcare bill, or the Mike Pence/Kris Kobach vote suppression commission, or a likely Trump trade war, or the ongoing immigration crackdown. Expect the political conversation to be like that if there's a Scarborough-Trump primary contest.

Joe, you probably weren't planning to do this, but really, don't. Nothing good is likely to come from it.

Sullo psicodramma migranti in atto in queste ore.

All’epoca del fatto, erano circa 60mila i presunti profughi giunti sulle nostre coste.

Insomma, idillio nato e morto in dieci minuti.

Siate pronti. E scusate per la lunghezza dell’articolo.

True. There's also a high probability of sabotage in the minefield. Trump is still disliked by the Deep State IMO. What's stopping them from deliberately walking a bunch of American goyim soldiers onto mines? Both Trump and Russia could be held responsible in the MSM. Two birds with one stone.

That makes it sound really close. For what it's worth I think that the Neocon/Deep State alliance needs a real National Emergency to take power. They surely need a dictatorship. Their 9/11 attempted Coup failed on the domestic side, and information about their treason is leaking out faster than ever with fewer American every day...
Comment on Is Trump Making Up Syria-Sarin Claims? by Andy Jones
It probably came from neocons in the deep state trying to manipulate Trump into attacking Syria. It looks like the military have realized how close to WW III we are and they are starting to push back against neocons in the intelligence services. If so, Trump would have their support in working with the Russians to destroy ISIS rather go to attack Syria and start WW III. I suspect that Trump didn't believe that Assad used Sarin when he launched the cruise missiles. He may have judged that he would be too isolated if he did nothing. It was an attack crafted to do almost no real damage. The Russians were warned in advance. The Russians have now warned that they will fight if the US attacks Syria again. Trump decided not to start WW III.

U.S. Are Already at War in Syria

Make No Mistake, We Are Already at War in Syria

Trump's anti-war promises were just glib campaign rhetoric.

Brantley)

Something peculiar happens to American presidents after they take office on January 20.
Campaign promises to right the easily perceived misdirections in foreign policy are abandoned, and the new program for dealing with the rest of the world winds up looking very much like the old one. Bill Clinton was an anti-Vietnam War draft dodger who preached the moral high ground for going to war before he turned around and got involved in the Balkans while also bombing Sudan and Afghanistan. George W. Bush promised non-interference and no nation-building overseas, but 9/11 converted him into an exemplar of how to do everything wrong as he sank into the quagmires of Iraq and Afghanistan.
Barack Obama’s margin of victory in 2008 was likely due to the perception that he was the peace candidate, particularly in contrast to his opponent Senator John McCain, but he wound up deeper in Afghanistan, out of, and then back into Iraq, interfering in Syria, and bringing about disastrous regime change in Libya while also allowing relations with Moscow to deteriorate. Donald Trump has surrounded himself with generals after promising no deeper involvement in foreign wars and the generals are telling him that winning wars only requires more soldiers on the ground and just a little more time and effort to stabilize things, all of which are self-serving formulae for policies that have already failed.
And then there are the perennial enemies, with Iran at the top of the list while Russia and China play supporting roles. Some would blame the foreign policy orientation on the Deep State, which certainly is suggestive, but I rather suspect that the flip-flops of recent presidents are also based on some other elements. First, none of them has been a veteran who experienced active duty, which makes war an abstraction observed second hand on PowerPoint in a briefing room rather than a reality. And second, the shaping of their views can be directly attributed to the pervasiveness of the establishment view on the appropriate role for the United States in the world.
Sometimes referred to as America’s “civil religion,” one can also call it “American exceptionalism” or the “leadership of the free world” or even “responsibility to protect” but the reality is that a broad consensus has developed in the United States that enables serial interventionism with hardly a squeak of protest coming from the American people.
Donald Trump has been in office for five months and it would appear that at least some of the outlines of his foreign policy are beginning to take shape, though that may be exaggeration as no one seems to be in charge. The “America First” slogan seemingly does not apply to what is developing, as actual U.S. interests do not appear to be driving what takes place, and there does not seem to be any overriding principle that shapes the responses to the many challenges confronting Washington worldwide.
The two most important observations that one might make are both quite negative. First, lamentably, the promised détente with Russia has actually gone into reverse, with the relationship between the two countries at the lowest pointsince the time of the late, lamented Hillary Rodham Clinton as Secretary of State. Second, we are already at war with Syria even though the media and Congress seem blissfully unaware of that fact. We are also making aggressive moves intended to create a casus belli for going to war with Iran, and are doubling down in Afghanistan with more troops on the way, so Donald Trump’s pledge to avoid pointless wars and nation-building were apparently little more than glib talking points intended to make Barack Obama look bad.
The situation with Russia can be repaired as Vladimir Putin is a realist head of state of a country that is vulnerable and willing to work with Washington, but it will require an end to the constant vituperation being directed against Moscow by the media and the Democratic Party. That process could easily spin out for another year with all parties now agreeing that Russia intervened in our election even though no one has yet presented any evidence that Russia did anything at all.
Syria is more complicated. Senators Tim Kaine and Rand Paul have raised the alarm over American involvement in that country, declaring the U.S. military intervention to be illegal. Indeed it is, as it is a violation of the United Nations Charter and the American Constitution. No one has argued that Syria in any way threatens the United States, and the current policy is also an affront to common sense: like it or not Syria is a sovereign country in which we Americans have set up military bases and are supporting “rebels” (including jihadis and terrorists)who are seeking to overthrow the legitimate government. We have also established a so-called “de-confliction” zone in the southeast of the country to protect our proxies without the consent of the government in Damascus. All of that adds up to what is unambiguously unprovoked aggression, an act of war.
The war began in earnest when the Obama administration began building bases and sending Special Ops into Syria in the late summer of 2015, after the White House announced that it would “allow airstrikes to defend Syrian rebels trained by the U.S. military from any attackers, even if the enemies hail from forces loyal to Syrian President Bashar al-Assad.”
That policy guaranteed escalation and direct American involvement in the conflict. In the last month, for the first time since the civil war in Syria began in 2011, the United States has directly attacked Syrian government forces or proxies four times, including two air attacks against Iranian militiamen allied to Damascus. Those moves were preceded by the April U.S. Navy launch of 59 cruise missiles in an attack directed against a Syrian air base. The recent escalation has produced a response from Russia, which decried in the strongest terms the latestof these incidents, in which a U.S. F-18 Hornet shot down a Syrian SU-22 fighter-bomber.
Moscow has now threatened to act against any U.S.-led coalition aircraft flying over western Syria, a step that could in short order lead to a Russian-U.S. war in the Middle East.
Syria is currently under attack from the air forces of sixteen nations operating within its airspace loosely affiliated with the U.S. effort to bring about regime change. When Syria resists, it is routinely accused of using “forbidden” weapons by the mouthpieces of the terrorist groups operating inside the country under the American umbrella. Currently, the White House is warning that it has “identified potential preparations for another chemical weapons attack by the Assad regime.” UN Ambassador Nikki Haley elaborated in a tweet, “…further attacks will be blamed on Assad but also on Russia and Iran who support him…”
Syria will “pay a very heavy price” if a chemical attack takes place, according to the White House statement. The U.S. warning will inevitably motivate the so-called rebels to stage an attack themselves and blame it on Damascus, as they have done in the past. It also dangerously escalates the conflict by directly targeting both Russia and Iran as Syrian “accomplices” in war crimes. It is a very dangerous move by the Trump Administration and one that apparently was not coordinated with the Defense and State Departments, which were caught flat footed by the White House announcement. The nature and credibility of the information implicating Syria has not been revealed and is being regarded as an “intelligence matter.”
Much of this acting against actual U.S. interests has come about due to the “worthless ally” syndrome which has been prevalent in Washington for several decades. In the Middle East, where many of the problems begin, there is no coherent policy that has evolved beyond unconditional support for local “allies” Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Turkey and Israel. This has meant in practical terms that the U.S. defers to Riyadh, Ankara, Cairo, and Tel Aviv in nearly all regional matters while it is also the guarantor of a feckless Afghan government.
So in spite of pledges to disengage from the cycle of warfare in the Middle East, the United States seems to be on course for direct involvement in a series of local conflicts with no clear “victory” and exit policy in place. Remove al-Assad and what comes next? What will the Russians do? Will America’s so-called allies Turkey, Israel, and Saudi Arabia be satisfied with dismemberment of the Syrian state or will they insist on pushing on to Tehran? Who would fill that vacuum?
There are certainly other foreign policy black holes, to include the awful decision to rollback normalization with Cuba and the hot-then-cold moves against North Korea. Venezuela, a major U.S. oil supplier, is about to implode and it is not clear if the State Department has any contingency plan in place to deal with the crisis. But Russia and Syria are in a class by themselves as they have the potential to turn into Class A disasters, like Iraq or possibly even worse. And then there is Iran lurking, apparently hated by all the talking heads in Washington and inextricably linked to what is happening in Syria. It is more than capable of becoming the next catastrophe for a White House that is apparently staggering from crisis to crisis. What will Trump do? I am afraid that the lesson learned from the cruise missile attack on a Syrian base in April was that using force is popular, repeat as necessary. That would be a major mistake, but there is every sign that some of the people around Trump have their eyes on escalating and “doing something” in Syria and also against Iran for starters, and if Russia gets in the way we can deal with them too.

Comment on Hart, Dworkin, and Trump by Steve Smith
It's a wildcard for not philosophical reasons, John Roberts, Anthony Kennedy, Ruth Bader Ginsburg, Sonia Sotomayor, Stephen G. Breyer, Samuel A. Alito, Elena Kagan are all direct apointees of Deep State Bolchevick agent Jamie Gorelick and her "Presidential beards", Iran agent since at least 2004. Gorelick is the head of America's Blackmail-Bribery network pushing criminal and Islamic and Communist invasion. And theyve been exposed, and Putin is not on their team, and large portions of the US military are becoming aware, my guess is most Supremes will die soon sans Kagan and Gorsuch, the next Gen deep state Commies.
Gotta Adore Lord Monckton...the BLM Has Been Seriously Warned!!!
Nighttime yowls, most precious summertime Kittens... the Kougar's head is on a permanent spin cycle with ALL that is happening in our world, upon our planet Earth right now... And YES, the question must be asked: IS THE ENEMY-MSM planning attacks on itself as in false flags? So people will believe these presstitutes are really under attack, and the American public will once again accept their CIA MOCKING BIRD propaganda ... currently, these pathetic android-idjit types sure know how to throw a big ole stupid pity party.

Okay then, Lord Monckton of THERE IS NO GLOBAL WARMING fame, is one very impressive and powerful dude. During the RED PILL EXPO he defends Mrs. Finicum---remember Lavoy Finicum was  assassinated by the FBI, ETC. as he was peacefully traveling to a meeting] ... anyway, Lord Monckton gives the corrupt-thieving BLM [Bureau of Land Management] the type of WARNING this Big Cat would give them... only thing: Lord Monckton has far more clout on the world stage of politics than the Kougar could ever dream of... that said, the BLM, and all those agency criminals who despicably and wrongly came against the Bundy's, after those who bravely stood with Mr. Bundy... these fed agency bully-criminals are about to meet their waterloo... it's just a matter of DIVINE TIMING.

On another gloom-doom note, the psycho-evil globalists ARE FAILING AGAINST THE AMERICAN PEOPLE, FAILING AGAINST OUR STAND FOR REAL FREEDOM. THESE REP-TARD TYPES ARE FAILING AGAINST FREEDOM-LOVING PEOPLE ALL OVER THE WORLD ... however, these are cornered, berserker-ferocious franken-rats who are planning any number of false flags and violent chaos scenarios against WE THE PEOPLE. Be prepared mentally, physcially, emotionally.

The desperate MSM might go to extreme lengths to gain public sympathy

Alex Jones looks at the defeated fake news media and how they have started to play the victim card.
He also discusses the possibly of CNN planning a false flag attack on one of their own so they can blame Trump.
The MSM has a history of staging events and spreading lies that end up causing the murder of tens of thousands of people.
For example the Iraq war began after American politicians and media outlets spread fake news to gain public support for an unnecessary invasion.

The Real Reasons Why Podesta Must Testify In Secret

podesta 2

All of the MSM’s are reporting  that the House intelligence Committee plans on interviewing embattled John Podesta later this week. Podesta served as Hillary Clinton’s 2016 campaign chairman.
What is disturbing is that Podesta’s testimony will be held in secret because usually when something is done in secret, there is something definitive to hide. Indeed, the secrecy aspect is very troubling on a number of fronts. James Comey recent testimony was carried on every network. Attorney Jeff Sessions testimony was carried on every network. Yet the Podesta testimony will be held in secret and the participants will not be able discuss their testimony with the public. Why the discrepancy? The answer is as simple as the nose on your face. The House Intelligence Committee is doing the work of the Deep State and are protecting them from further exposure as to their collective forays  into child-sex-trafficking.  Podesta, literally and figuratively knows where all the bodies are buried in this heinous arena of subhuman, Satanic behavior called the Deep State.

Does This Voice Belong to John Podesta As He Violates and Tortures a Child?

Please forward the following Youtube video to the 18:45 mark. The evidence presented purports to be John Podesta’s voice as he violates and tortures a child. Listen and observe the evidence, is this indeed John Podesta doing what is being alleged. From my perspective, there is certainly a lot of smoke. Is there a full blown fire? Will Congress dare touch on this subject? Is this one of the reasons that Podesta’s testimony has to be held in private? In the comments section, please tell us what you think.

Will Podesta be Questioned About Nick Bryant and the Franklin Scandal?

Over 8 years ago, I interviewed Nick Bryant, the author of the book, The Franklin Scandal. Among all the scandals in the book that were revealed included the fact that many newly elected members of Congress are implicated and framed in sex scandals involving children after they are first elected and this takes place at a location called the Franklin House. The tapes that are made can be used as leverage against the congressmen at a later and more convenient time. Bryant’s work has stood up to extreme scrutiny through the years.
Three years prior to Nick Bryant’s work, I was told the same thing by the late Bill Pawelec who had done some contract work for the CIA. Vance Davis, a personal friend who is formerly of the NSA, and a recent interviewee on The Common Sense Show, on multiple occasions,  was a part of these discussions. Bill’s wife, Annie DeRiso, was my News Director for six years and was also privy to these discussions.
Subsequently, we have another motive as to why the Podesta hearings will be secret as some of these congressmen will have a lot on the line given some of their collective and nefarious past.
Podesta feels the walls closing in and he is a wounded animal who is likely desirous of taking everyone down with him. No doubt he blames fellow Democratic Congressman for Hillary’s defeat because they did not do enough. These are very strong motives that lead to secrecy.

Relevant Background

Podesta drew some much unwanted attention last year when thousands of his emails went viral as they were released on WikiLeaks a few months prior to the 2016 election.
Many in the Independent media believed that the Wikileaks emails, a few short weeks, caused more damage to Hillary Clinton’s campaign than what Comey’s FBI did with the revelation of that Hillary “grossly” mishandled over 33,000 classified emails.
Most in the Independent Media (IM) are keenly aware that Seth Rich was finished off at the hospital. This is an omnipresent claim from the IM

Many Feel that Podesta Made the “Leaker” Pay With His Life

As previously reported on The Common Sense Show, after the Wikileaks emails appeared, Podesta stated “let’s make the leaker pay”.  And as history would have it, Seth Rich was murdered a few short days later. It was later discovered that Rich was the “leaker”. As has been widely and previously reported, Podesta was prominently linked to the organization known as Pizzagate whose euphemism was altered to pedogate. In other words, Podesta was, and remains, a strong person of interest in the child-sex-trafficking allegations connected to Pedogate.
Reportedly, Podesta will meet with the House panel in a private session.  He is one of the first set of  key witnesses to appear before the House panel to testify about the 2016 election.
The committee is expected to question Podesta about the leak of his emails that goes back many years. They are particularly interested in his emails connection to Russian influence in the election and possible tampering. At least this is what the House Intelligence Committee is saying. In reality the House Democrats are very nervous about another factor.

Liz Crokin

Liz Crokin, writing for the Hagmann Report produced a very revealing article in support of the claims made in the abovementioned paragraphs as evidenced in the following:
“John Podesta and a group of Democrats called for Rep. Steve Scalise to resign shortly after he began his efforts to combat human trafficking as the Majority Whip of the House.”
And what was Scalise doing at the time he was attacked?  He had sponsored a bill on child-sex-trafficking which was to be heard on the day that he was shot. This puts a whole new light on the assassination attempt on Scalise at the Congressional baseball team practice.

It is as plain as the nose on your face as to why the Podesta testimony is being held in private and it was my distinct privilege to connect these dots as to why this is so. Do you need any more motivation than to clean house on Congress in the mid-term elections?  This is assuming our country makes it that far.
